The old saying "Give me that old time religion" expresses the opinion that what was good enough for the ignorant savages of 2,000 years ago. The world has changed but religion was designed for a world that is long dead. The idea that a man in a red suit and tail stalked the earth tempting innocent people into all sorts of sins is absurd. There once was inherent need to worship a God, but ignorance must eventually give way to knowledge. Religion tries to drive people back into a world of ignorance and superstition.
@Zardoz,
You will see it most likely. The world will not end, this satan ruled system will end.
@kjw47,
Quote:The world will not end, this satan ruled system will end.
The Christ-cult has been repeating this dire warning for nearly two thousand years. It starts to ring hollow after a while.
@kjw47,
Do you notice how every good story needs two elements a hero and a villain. I don't think that it is any coincidences that the Christian scam is constructed the same way. This is simply the elements of good story telling. Joseph Cambell studied religions all over the world and they all had one thing in common, the heroes' tale. The characters were different, but the stories were similar always about a hero who overcomes great obstacles and or villains. All over the world and the stories all feature the same elements. It is the same basics of the story that religions spring from.
"It (religion) comes from the bawling and fearful infancy of our species, and a babyish attempt to meet our inescapable demand for knowledge (as well as comfort, reassurance, and other infantile needs.)"
