I have been involved in politics all my life, I have worked a presidential campaign and a campaign for governor. I set up a coalition between police, fire, and city employees and we elected six out of seven councilmen. I am currently finishing up the book "Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show." Every time I read the description of the capitol police being beat nearly to death and unable to stand because of the blood on the ground I realize why other countries execute the leaders of a coup that day without trial. They are dispatched by firing squad or hung. If you let the snake slither away, you get what we now have.

Most people who vote today never get past the smoke and mirrors of Fox News. Fox News nothing to do with news it is a 24-7 political advertisement. It was founded by two political operatives who used it as a full-time propaganda station. When communist countries want to set up a propaganda station, they contact Fox News, and they send people to set it up.

America had laws that prevented propaganda stations until Reagan did away with the law. Prior to that a station was required to present both sides of a political argument. A democrat presented one side of an argument and a republican the other side. Today it like only letting the defense present their side of the argument. The argument for doing away with the Fairness Doctrine was there now so many stations out there that everybody would be exposed to all sides of a political question, but the exact opposite happened people watched stations that reenforced their already existing opinions.

You act as though he has no record. What you're describing is pretty much the opposite of what happened during his first term.

If you remember Trump's first term his major push was to do away with Obamacare, there were several votes to kill it. If not for John McCain Trump would have been successful. Trump has already made it clear he is going to do everything in his power to do away with it in this term. Trump always said he is going to replace with something better but somehow, he never comes up with anything.

When you eliminate Obamacare millions will have no healthcare, but that does not mean they won't get sick, when they do the cost of their care is passed on to the health insurance of others, driving health insurance up. Trump wants to kill that 0.9% tax on the wealthy. The world's richest man pays not one dime in income tax because deductions, but he has to pay this tax. Doing away with Obamacare simply switches the burden from the wealthy to the working man. The wealth should have to pay an alternative minimum tax. When the kids working at McDonalds pay income tax and the world's richest man pays none there is something seriously wrong with America. We had an Alternative Minimum Tax before, but it was eliminated because it was not adjusted for inflation and the middle class was having to pay it.

Everybody remembers the old time barbershop where political discussions were held everybody was free to present their opinions. This was one of the best places to learn about politics you were exposed to all sides of a political discussion from people you trusted and respected. Now everyone sits still afraid to offend some Trump thug who can't hold up his end of the discussion.

Thanksgiving my wife asked me to refrain from talking politics because two Trump thugs were going to be there. Same thing at other family functions. The hate came with Trump it did not exist before Trump. This took a major way of learning about politics and replaced it with silence. This alone could have changed the election outcome. We need to take back our family political discussions. If the Trump thugs can't keep their emotions under control they should be asked to leave and only return after they gain control of their emotions. Fox News has replaced family discussions. The battle starts here in your house. We cannot concede the country to those who yell the loudest.

What he didn't do in his first term is beside the point. He has new cabinet officials, a changed legislative branch, different conditions after 4 years of Biden, and Project 2025. Why would anyone expect a repeat of his first term?

I have long puzzled over why the Trump supporters can't hold a political discussion without getting so upset. I believe Trump supporters are emotionally attached to him, that was how Trump was marketed to the public. Certain things in our society are called icons. Trump is the classic damsel in distress who needs to be rescued from the evil world. The world is out to do poor old Mrs. Trump in. His followers cast themselves in the hero role there to save the day. So, in every political discussion they must rise to rescue the poor damsel. When they accept the role as hero, they will defend the damsel in distress with all their might. No actress can play the damsel in distress like Trump.

The democrats don't view their leaders as damsels in distress they believe that they can defend themselves and lead the country. They do not believe have to do verbal combat to the death. The democrats vote for people who support policies that benefit them. In order for this country to survive they need to vote for policies that benefit themselves. The Trump voters have no time to vote for policies that benefit themselves they are too busy rescuing the damsel in distress to worry about policies.

When they enter into a political discussion, they are like a long-ago Knight trying to slay a dragon. They are already so jacked up on their own adrenaline they can hardly speak.

Off topic. What does that have to do with changing the laws or rules to eliminate a tax on the rich?

Get used to it this is my topic and i make the rules. I tend to treat the thread like a daily article, and it will switch topics from time. My other thread has been on the board f13 1/2 years it would be hard to stay on the same topic.

Today they found that a 143 people have died of a mysterious disease in the Cong in the last two weeks. They don't know what killed them, but the symptoms are similar to COVDS. It is a good thing we have Trump to protect us. Trump will be handing out bottles of bleach and needles to inject it with. Trump made America the biggest disaster area in the world with by far, the most deaths and the most cases. While China locked down their population, Trump had people from the center of the pandemic flown back and spread all over America. This disease kills women and children. Trump is not capable of even understanding that bleach injected into the human body would kill not only the disease but the human being.

I have not heard much about Trump cutting out the income tax on several different groups of employees since he was elected. Police, military, firemen would no longer have to pay income tax under Trump's plan. Do you reckon that was just more of Trump's lies. This was a lie meant to manipulate people into voting for him.

Biden meanwhile tells one lie, and it is the shot heard round the world. Trump told 30,000 verifiable lies while he was in office and one lie about the last election 30.000 times, but nobody pays an intention. Trump sold many pardons for a million each and now has appointed some of the people he pardoned to positions in his administration.

So far, I think the only thing he's been even remotely honest about is his wish that Ivanka wasn't really his daughter because he'd like to "date" her (or, as we normalish people say, screw her).

I am finishing the book ""Betrayal" and found out Trump was disinvited to Biden Inauguration by Mitch McConnel and other republican leaders. That is the first time that was made public.

Trump is a lame duck, and the republicans are already beginning to treat him that way. In Georga the representative is looking at all those green jobs and realizing that if Biden' programs are eliminated thousands of jobs will be eliminated. Trump great program to deport illegal aliens will leave the crops rotting in the fields. Mass deportation had been tried before and exceptions had to be made if Americans wanted to eat. They figure Trump's great deportation program will make exceptions for red states. Trump will completely collapse our medical system given a chance. The republicans will soon put Trump in a corner and let him talk to himself because he is a lame duck and of no further use to them.

Trump has decided that he will force other countries to take the illegal aliens he is deporting even though they are not from those countries. One of the countries that Trump plans to take the illegal aliens is the Bahamas'. Trump thinks he is King of the World and can do anything, but he is really just a senile old man and legend in his own mind.

I got to thinking about my reply to your post. Trump does not see women as people he sees them as sexual objects that exist for his pleasure. You can see Trump with Jeffery Epstein, you can see Trump at a party for underage girls where the host went to jail but not Trump. In this country one in four women are molested. I read that on a billboard once and I wondered how that could be true. Sometimes we know things we don't want to know. As I started thinking about the women, I knew I realized I knew many who had been molested. Many were molested by fathers or stepfathers.

After a funeral I was riding in car with my cousin, she was fifty at the time. I remarked on what a wild child she had been. She had run away from many times. She said you know why I ran away? I said no. She said my father was raping me and every time they bought me back home, he would rape me again. A girl friend told me her cousin had raped her when she was six and invited the neighborhood boys to join in. I had a childhood sweetheart who stepfather was molesting her. Even my wife was grabbed by her uncle but was able to outrun him.

It is a national disgrace what is done to young girls and women by people like Trump they seldom ever serve jail time. A guy at work raped all three of his daughters and they said it was caused by Agent Orange, and they wanted to return him to his job. We refused to work with him, and they got him a job at the VA


I can't imagine Agent Orange causing him to rape his three daughters. I think anybody caught raping their daughters should be given life in prison without parole.

This is why #MeToo was/is so big. It is an experience shared by far too many people. Glad your wife could get away.

When I was dating my wife and we would come in from a date if her uncle was in town, they were worried he would pick a fight with me. I didn't know why till later. He committed suicide by jumping off the 6th St bridge. He was babysitting his girlfriend's three young daughters that night while she and her mother went to a country concert. I don't know whether anything happened that night, but I wonder.

But you don't make the rules of logic. Again, what is the basis for suspecting that Donald Trump will "change the laws or rules to eliminate a tax on the rich?" Certainly nothing he's done before.

Trump did everything in his power to kill Obamacare in his first term in office and he would have been successful except for John McCain. Politics is about money and those making over $250,000 are the ones who are taxed 0.9% on their income over that amount. Those are the same people who funded Trump's campaign they are expecting Trump to do what they want him to eliminate the tax. Money talks and BS walks.

We now have a government of billionaires, by billionaires, for billionaires, where does that leave you? Maybe they will throw you a few scraps like they would their dog. Trump had predicted long ago that there was no place for the working man. He predicted that there would no longer be a middleclass. You would be either super rich or super poor and now he will make his long-ago prediction a self-filing prophecy come true. He did encourage people to get rich quick because the boat was leaving the dock.
