@The Anointed,
Do you realize that you believe that the universe is nothing more than a giant religious cult worshiping a malignment narcissist for an eternity. For those who have spent their entire lives in a religious cult this idea seems reasonable. This is cult reasoning or group mind no reasonable person could possibly believe that without being indoctrinated as a child and brain washed as an adult. What a totally absurd idea. Take a look at the night sky and the purpose of all that was an eternal religious cult.

The Christian right is trying to take over America and make freedom in America a distant memory.

"Earlier this year, a presidential commission staffed almost entirely conservatives Christians urged Americans to rethink the separation of church and state and build bridges."

How long before the Christians acquire government power and rewrite the constitution before they start burning people at the stake. God may have never said directly to the people to start sacrificing people but he told that preacher over there and he would not lie. The preachers says we must show respect for God and sacrifice a few virgins. For those who are indoctrinated ignorance is the shortest distance between two points. Those who mainlining the Christian disease are a danger not only themselves but everyone else.

@Zardoz,
It won't work. Making people say and act as if they believe in something when they actually don't simply breeds smoldering resentment and outright hostility.
And it's clearly against the foundational principles of the United States.

@hightor,
I can remember the prayer in school controversy tell me why everybody should be exposed to prayer in school? They have a place to pray, church. Why is a prayer given at almost every event from NASCAR races to 5Ks. Social proof if they can pray at every public event, it provides a counterfeit proof that their belief is valid. It is a sort of advertising and a great recruiting tool for their cult.

You can spend as much time in church as you want to pray as much as you want too but there are people who don't want to belong to your religious cult and we resent you wasting our time.

@jespah,
It comes down to control. They are not satisfied with controlling just their members they want to control everyone. At one time here a business could not be open on Sunday. If you opened your business on Sunday, the police were called and you were arrested and your business closed. If businesses were open on Sunday their members could go shopping instead of going to church. Alcohol could not be sold Sunday mornings to encourage alcoholics to go to church instead and that law is still on the books I believe. But what runs deep in their minds is doubt and they need to affirm their belief by how many others believe as they do. That is what drives the urge to control and that urge to control is dangerous. The Christian right hopes to use the government to gain control of the rest of us.

The Christian right is determined to take control of the country. It won't be all at once in armed confrontation. It will be fought in state legislatures a little at a time. One law at a time. The radical judges appointed by Trump will back them up. In one state they have mandated that bible stories be taught in public schools. Take payer in public schools, praying is a religious ritual it is not just words. Practicing a religious ritual in public schools is just wrong. The religious right keep say America is a Christian nation that is no longer true less than 50% of Americans are Christian now. More and more Americans are seeing Christianity as the scam it is. The belief that the purpose of universe is one big religious cult does not hold water. That eternity will be spent worshiping a malignant narcissist is so foolish that nobody that was not first indoctrinated and then brain washed could consider it anything but laughable.

If the Christian right wants prayer in schools, they can send their children to religious schools where they can praise the lord 8 hours a day. They won't learn anything, but it will be good for the religious cults.

@Zardoz,
Christianity is the gateway to even more dangerous religious cults once you accept the supernatural it becomes much easier to accept much more radical belief systems. We need only look at the Middle East as to what happens when religious radicals get control of the government. There are currently 4,453,908 Muslims in the United States. Like the Christians they also believe their religion should run the government and Americans should live under their religious rules. In one country women were not allowed to drive until recently it was not granted under the Koran of course there were no cars when the Koran was written but course someone said God told them women shouldn't drive. Women in Muslims countries must cover their head in public. Even the smallest freedoms are taken away by religious cults. Think it couldn't happen here? When I was a child, women were not allowed in church without their head covered with a hat or something. No doubt God told some priest women should not be in church without a hat this was to show that they were inferior to men, men did not have to wear a head covering.

It is about control people should realize the religious cults are like termites they are eating away our freedoms a little at a time. Like termite damage to your house, you may not see the damage it until it collapses. They are just doing it for your own good. In countries were religious cults rule they become a backwards disaster. When the divine clashes with reality there is always a problem. Be wary of those who would take your freedom even small freedoms, they will never be satisfied there will be more freedoms they need to take for "your own good."

If man created God, what would we expect to see? We would see the very same defects in character that man has. If God were a perfect being none of these defects would be in his character. The idea that a perfect being needs to be worshiped is beyond foolish. Why does one need to be worshiped? One need to be worshiped shows an insufficient character who needs to prop up his poor self-concept.

Take a Trump campaign meeting. They go around the table with each cabinet member praising Trump. It is a how great thou art meeting. It is an ass kissing contest if there ever was one. Trump's campaign stops are more opportunities to praise Trump. Trump feeds off them and needs them.

Now if you are creating a God. What would a God need? He would need to be worshiped. How would you know that? From observing kings, they loved to be worshipped. You have to remember the ancients had never seen a God they were creating one. The worst traits of man found there way into God. It betrays the ancient's hands in the creation of God.

God is vindictive, a murder who kills innocent people, he is often angry. He feels slighted by the worship of other Gods and he settles scores. Trump may jail his enemies, but God sends his enemies to hell for an eternity. There is so much of the bad traits man in the concept of God that impossible to ignore.

The bible was written from man's perspective not a God's perspective. If a God had created everything, would he need to be worshiped by hundreds of millions. A God that created everything would not need or want hundreds of millions of people on their knees going praise God for all eternity. On the other hand, the ancients would look around at the kings of their time who craved and needed worship because they had insufficient character. The model for their God was the kings of their time. The whole foundation of their belief crumbles in the face of reason. Nature does not waste energy and a giant religious cult worshiping God for an eternity is a waste of energy. This is classic projection where the traits of man are projected onto an imaginary God.

How would they know the mind of God? It is obvious their imagination was limited by what they could see around them. Many think being worshiped would be great so they reward their God with worship. But dreams often turn into nightmares ask any movie star who soon becomes a prisoner in their own home. Being worshipped becomes old when you no longer have any privacy. When I was racing I did not like to sign autographs it just made me uncomfortable. I never asked who the autograph was for and just signed my name. It was a form of hero worship and when you think about it that is what Christianity is a form of hero worship.

Did you ever have a child who wanted to center attention all the time. Even when the adults were talking the child wanted to be the center of attention. God is like that he always wants to be the center of attention. Millions attend church each week to make him the center of attention. Isn't it funny that God has the same character flaws as a small child. Man created God with the flaws they saw in others. A God would ascend many steps up the evolutionary latter, but this God seems stuck at the bottom. Hero worship happens in our society, but it should not become the ultimate goal of life on earth.

It is now time to choose to take the red pill or the blue pill. Take the blue pill and you go back to sleep in the matrix. Take the red pill and you must deal with reality. Most people in our time have taken the blue pill. Those that took the blue pill will live in fear all the days the days of their life. Fear of God, fear of death. Fear puts you in fight or flight mode that is a very stressful state. The fantasy is meant to assuage the fear of death but even with the fantasy can't protect them from the lingering fear of death. Then there is the devil imagine how much fear they have of being burned for eternity every time they commit a sin. Is it any wonder we have so many people with mental problem being in a constant state of fight or flight. The red pill keeps you from being herding by fear all the days of your life.

Of course, fear is the primary tool of religious cults they use it to control their members. Religious lies have consequences. My sister called yesterday saying that my 98-year-old mother's health was declining. It bought back memories of dad dying 25 years ago. Dad made his choice by refusing treatment after his condition was intolerable. I later learned that my dad had wanted my mother to go "with him." He actually thought he was going somewhere and that he could take my mother with him. You see these cases where and elderly couple go by murder suicide they are taking their mate with them.

The origin of the blue pill can be traced back to someone who was dying and a storyteller. To ease the pain of the dying man the storyteller tells him that when he dies, he will go to a place called heaven and he will be reunited with all his dead relatives and friends. The blue pill spread like a virus it could not only comfort the dying but the grieving relatives. It had military application also. Soldiers were told they need not fear death because after they were blow pieces, they would find themselves whole in heaven just like a video game. Millions decided to take the blue pill. The blue pill kept them connected to matrix (religion) where illusions could be generated and spread easily. If you gave many of them the choice between their illusions and reality, they would still choose their illusions even if they knew they were illusions.

Those that took the red pill have chosen to disconnect from the matrix and they ae able to view the matrix from the outside and view of the matrix (religion) is far different from the outside than from the inside. Fiction can be customized to please anyone, reality can't. Pain, both physical and mental, can't not be avoided but it can be masked by illusion.

My mom is now 98 her health had been excellent until a few years ago. She was able to mow her lawn until she was 95. Will I tell her that she is going to heaven where she will find my dad waiting along with her parents and siblings? Will I tell her she will be expected to get on her knees and praise Jesus for eternity? Which statement is more ridiculous? Illusions are like drugs they are pleasant in the short term but a nightmare in the long run. No, I will not use an illusion to aid her passing. "It is life's illusion I recall I really don't know life at all."

Another nice feature of religion is religious wars where one religion attacks another to prove which God is the mightiest. You would think that Gods as supreme beings would be able to settle things without resorting to war. The current Iran war is not about atomic weapons they already destroyed their nuclear program. It would take years before the damage could be repaired. Trump tried to take out the religious leaders of Iran and did take out most of them. Trump then believed he could put a non-Islamic government in place that would answer to Trump much like he did in Venezuela. The Iran war is a religious war. It would be much like Iran bombing Rome to take out the pope and his cardinals.
