no links just my opinion. How obviOus does it need to be that this guy is 1000% in bushco's pocket?

I said this on the Renquist thread, but will repeat it here. I think we can look forward to the confirmation hearings taking a new turn and the circus will now be enlarged to three rings. Roberts didn't have too much opposition to being named associate justice. Chief Justice is another matter. The fence-sitters will now have to take a stand. I can just feel Arlen Spector priming his guns and getting ready to fire some really tough questions.

Yep, not that I wouldn't enjoy any opportunity to PO Scallywag, but even he would be better than a hand picked puppet. If there were doubts about Roberts as a justice, they ought to be doubled for chief justice.

Love or hate Scalia, he's definitely a scholar of the court and the law.

I'd support Scalia or Roberts for Chief. Roberts is probably the less controversial choice. But I'm still counting on Bush nominating a new justice that is very much Rehnquist (or Scalia)-like.
