Hezbollah on the "backfoot" - Should Israel go into Lebanon or not?

Currently Hezbollah appears to be on the "backfoot", so should the Israeli army (Israel Defense Forces) attack Hezbollah to seek to force it back to the Litani river in Lebanon, thus obliging Hezbollah to comply with the provisions of United Nations resolution 1701?

In my personal opinion (though to be fair its none of my business), I feel - No!

Hezbollah constitutes part of the Iranian professional army, well equipped by Iran with modern weapons and ammunition of all sorts. It is illegally-occupying southern Lebanon against the majority wishes of the Lebanese people, even though it is allied with the Lebanese Amal party.
Hezbollah constitutes an Iranian illegal-occupation of southern Lebanon.

Any Israeli invasion of southern Lebanon would be unsustainable because the Israeli force would then be obliged to stay, to enforce Hezbollah's absence from the border with Israel.

Were the IDF not to do as well as they might be expected to do in any such action, then Hezbollah, and other terrorist groups like Hamas and Fatah, and countries in the region (with or without current peace treaties with Israel), would all: "sense weakness".

If Hezbollah were to make the mistake of invading Israel, the IDF is well capable of repelling them, bearing in mind also that Hezbollah lacks support in Lebanon, because Hezbollah's illegal-occupation of southern Lebanon is resented by most Lebanese people.

Neither Israel nor Lebanon have any claims on each other's territory and it is likely that without the Iranian/Hezbollah illegal-occupation of southern Lebanon, there might otherwise have been peace between Lebanon and Israel. As it is, it is Lebanon's responsibility that since the Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023, Hezbollah has been firing missiles at Israel.

Rather than forcing Hezbollah back from the Lebanese border with Israel, Israel might instead consider it should keep pounding-away at Hezbollah; an expensive process yet one not risking IDF soldiers.

@Robert111333,
Iran broke all the splendor of Israel and iron domes and destroyed some sensitive military centers of Israel. Also, the leader of Iran announced two days ago that they will pray in an open place. The leader of Iran and all the officials of Iran were there, but Israel did nothing even though it had eaten 250 Iranian hypersonic missiles The foundations of Israel are looser than the webs of a spider's web.😂

For a Media assessment which appears to be somewhat more objective, see the following NPR article:
Quote:
According to reports in the Israeli media[https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-acknowledges-some-iranian-missiles-hit-airbases-no-major-damage-caused/], the military acknowledged that the strike had damaged “several” air bases. However, it said that no aircraft had been destroyed. Israeli media reported that the attacks had mainly damaged maintenance areas and office buildings.

@Robert111333,
Thank you👍

but your article had nothing to do with what I said.
I said: The leader of Iran praying with all the officials of this country in a public place was the best opportunity for Israel, if it has a great military power, to take advantage of this situation and attack, but it did not. Right after Iran's attack, this means proof of Israel's military weakness. By the way, if you don't have media censorship, you shouldn't just see the self-report of Israel. He never says that he was hit. It is better to watch the movies. The main air and military bases have been destroyed.🤔

And it is Iran's style that destroys military centers, but Israel kills more than 500,000 ineffective people and 18,000 children, and destroys hospitals and schools, which all reasonable people around the world have protested, even university professors and 100 American doctors. This is the difference between Iranian and Israeli bombs. 😎

Finally, also where the bombs hit. The important thing is that there is no iron dome and it has many holes😅

Contributor "ghuriani" wrote alleging it is "proof of Israel's military weakness" that it did not attack the Supreme Leader of the
Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, while he was delivering a sermon.
I chose not to respond to the contributor's comment, since it is clear to most people that not attacking that gathering is no indication of any military weakness.

It is for the person alleging something, to provide proof.
The Iranian targets were not destroyed, and following the Iranian attack, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made a visit to Nevatim Airbase, which suffered damage during the attack:

I invite the contributor to provide objective evidence for the figures he quotes.

These addresses is of the past time, and the number of scams must have increased a lot right now.

What do you think about Israel's unprecedented crimes and genocide? do you defend them?
