Poll: Happy St. Patrick's Day 2024! Doing anything special for the holiday?

Hello. No one here did anything special for St. Patrick's Day?

St Patrick's Day isn't really a big thing in Australia. Some pubs might serve green beer or have an Irish themed night but that's about it. We certainly don't have parades or anything like that.

Apparently you are pretty much the only person here to advertises all the holidays but never celebrates them because you're "too busy". You can stop asking us how we celebrate when we don't respond. You seem to be the only one who cares. Not all of us are from the USA, not all of us are black, or Irish or whatever. Not all of us think some of these paltry dates are worth celebrating.

I only realised afterwards and I don't like Guinness.

I plan on spending my time allotment for St Patric on St Swithin this year.

It's on July 15. Can we count on you for a sheet cake or a couple packs of hot dogs? That would be swell of you!

For entertainment, we've engaged a nationally known barbershop quartet, The Four Incels, to sing.

Swithun is our parish saint.

He is buried in Winchester.

There is a legend that says if it rains on his grave on St Swithun's Day it will rain for 40 days and 40 nights.

That's not unusual for Winchester, it's bloody wet.

Didn't realize Winchester was so far away from Cambridge.

Still love the Cambridge sound. Caravan is still my favorite band (after the Beatles).

I watched part of a NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade on YouTube. That was about it.
