The Great Uniter

I'm sure few remember (conveniently) "Great Uniter" was one of jrs. big selling points when he first campaigned to steal America.

The proof is in front of your eyes and ears. He is an utter failure. As a President and a man.

A few Bush supporters went to the edge of the anti-war camp on Saturday, trying to remove some of the hundreds of white crosses bearing fallen soldiers' names. They had a list from families who did not want their sons' or daughters' names associated with Sheehan's group.Sheriff's deputies said they could remove the name tags but not the crosses, so the group removed a few tags and left without incident.

Part of the "silent majority".......who are choosing to be not quite so silent anymore.

The silent, especially the moral majority not so silent, are busy calling for the assassination of elected national leaders and for the "god hates faggots" to triumph over gay soldiers returning dead to their homeland. It's just one LOL after another.

While the vocal minority (loudmouths currently camping at a "ditch" in Crawford, Texas) hold their breath until they turn blue, or roll on the floor kicking and screaming, or threaten to climb up on the roof and jump, or....

Weep.

Gnash.

I should amend that to read "loudmouth hypocrites" since if they had an ounce of respect, they would cease immediately placing names on crosses knowing full well the objections of family members. Yet....they persist. Over and over.

What a sham.

mornin' j.w. hope your stayin' clear of that hurricane.

why didn't you also paste up the paragraph that immediately follows yours ?

Quote:
in one heated moment, members of the pro-Bush crowd turned on what they mistakenly thought were a group of anti-war protesters, cursing them, threatening them and tearing down their signs. A police officer rushed the group to safety.

the silent majority has been anything but silent for several years now...

Why didn't the author of this thread post the article instead of just the link? I posted that portion of the article that was relevant to me.

I know how the MSM operates, though. I highly suspect some exaggeration on their part concerning the paragraph you've chosen to focus on.

I understand why some here choose to give a pass to those in Crawford who choose to ignore the wishes and concise requests of certain family members. Cindy Sheehan does not speak for them. She knows that, but she just doesn't care.

I would say the posts so far in this thread are a damned good illustration of BVT's point. JW did an exceptionally good job of making the point. Excellent job, JW. you done good.

George W. Bush. What a dick.

jeez, who would dare. bbb gets spanked all the time for posting complete articles.

and don't you like the idea that you can actually go to the source and read the bonifide, unmanipulated article ?

but no exaggeration on in the paragraph you chose, right.

you guys can keep bashing the socalled "MSM" (read anything but fox and it's "contributers") all you want. but you are only fooling yourselves.

are you claiming that MOVEamericaFORWARD-DOT-ORG speaks for all military families ?

I'm not sure that picture is what it seems, Setanta. Given what we know about his competence, it's highly likely that he was just trying to pick his nose and missed.

Well, i can't argue with your logic on that one, and a fair and open mind would give him the benefit of the doubt.

"a fair and open mind" an interesting concept Set, not one I have ever considered for meself. It would, alas, elvate me above my peers. (not that I'm against elitism)

My only comment concerned those families who have stated categorically that Cindy Sheehan does not speak for them and have asked that their loved ones' names not be exploited for her political purposes. She and her loony followers have ignored those requests.

as i understand it, it was taking the physical white cross that was objected to. they freely allowed a policeman to remove the nametags.

problem solved, right ?

i don't think i've ever heard sheehan claim that she spoke for all military familes. surely she knows that she does not, just as the maf group does not.

DTOM - you thought wrong. Gary Qualls has had to ask that his son's name be removed five times now. They insist on replacing it on yet another white cross. He is there and has been for days. Cindy Sheehan is quite aware of his feelings and his wishes concerning his son.

No. The problem is definitely not solved. By ignoring the requests of Mr. Qualls and other parents, Sheehan is presuming to speak for them, whether she admits it or not.
