I've been making the big bucks contracting out my services as an electronics design consultant in the big D's Telecom Alley and in between those stints doing sub. teaching at local public schools. I decided awhile back to get into an alternative teaching program to pursue a career transition to teach fulltime. Last October I passed all my exams and am now qualified in the state of Texas to teach Math, Science, Social Studies and English to 4-8th grade students. I just needed a fulltime job teaching to do my internship and receive the actual certificate. Just this week I had several interviews and was offered a job for next fall at an intermediate school- 5th & 6th grades. Now I plan on taking some time off w/ Mrs C to have some fun in the RV for the summer. Very Happy

Gee, it's great to "see" you all... Thanks and best regards,

Hey! The only reason I dropped by this time is because I saw Jose Cuervo's name. How've you been, Jose? Long time no see. Hope you stick around awhile this time. Really happy to see you. c.i.

Just Flew In
Hello to all.

Just joined, and I am looking forward to having a wonderful time here. There is so much to do that I'm not sure where to start first, but that is a very happy dilemma.

AJYK, welcome to Able2Know; glad to have you here.

A little warning. You don't want to make things too smooth here or else we fall asleep. And the snoring is so loud, it scares the birds out of the trees.

Joy to the world folks, for once, google's "I feel lucky" clickie failed to disappoint me.

My name is Q (pronounced Queue), I'm 18 (19 in a month) going to school at the University of Michigan, possibly the biggest drug dealing vortex in Midwest America. There, I study Electrical Engineering (with a name like Q, you didn't expect me to study something unrelated to math, did you?). Currently, I'm spending summer at home here in quiet New Jersey with two summer internships (one at the United Nations and the other at Emerson, the friendly folks who make your dishwashers and washing machines).

I love to write. I write stuff of all sorts, most amateurish stuff (me being an engineering student and all) from poetry to short fiction to monologues to plays to c++ code (ha!).

I found this forum after querying "writer's forum" in google and hitting "I'm feeling lucky" and it seems I've hit the goldmine of an active online community who's interested in talking about pretty much anything under the sun.

Okay, you can flame away at the newbie now Smile

mithie- Welcome to A2K! Very Happy

Over here, we may engage in some good natured "roasts" from time to time, but there is nary a flame.

hi from news hound
Ciao everyone,

I spend way too much time reading news (best known deterrent from studying) but am no good at fighting or trying to outsnide people -- glad to find these forums, it looks like a safe haven...
Off to a raring start -- just posted this in the wrong place, i've got to get the lay of the land still...
