Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome.....I found the site by accident and I'm glad I did. I am 19 years old and live near Norwich, Norfolk, England, UK and recently started out in the world of employment after leaving college, working as a trainee support staff technical assistant with the Police service here in Norfolk. So far I am enjoying it thoroughly and it's great to mix with other civilian staff as well as with the police officers who are a great bunch of guys and girls. I have a wide range of interests, but my favourites are water based...swimming, sailing and scuba diving not only in the UK but also elsewhere in the EU.

Anyone from Brazil is especially welcome here, Bruna.
Craven, a very important person in this site's administration, used to teach english there.

Welcome, Broadslad. It's good to have some more Britons in here. (I reside in York). I had an ex-girl who was from Dereham. Nice part of the world, but a little bit flat for me - I missed the good Northern hills.

Welcome Bruna as well. A2K is truely an international club!

Greetings from Devon too, not at all flat here (we have good calf muscles).
Nice also to see younger members, sometimes I feel this is a bit of a middle-aged place (no, no, I can hear the howls of protest).
But we have lively minds! Hoping to arrange a UK meet sometime soon... see the thread http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=712005#712005 (although it seems to have become a German language thread just at the moment!)

Clary - I cycled Land's End to John O'Groats last year and can certainly testify to the hilliness of Devon & Cornwall. Good cycling through attractive landscapes.

PS. I'm 27 and would hope I don't count as middle-aged! Old enough to know better, but young enough not to care!

My profound apologies for assuming your medievality! It may be that those who have the most time on their hands for word games tend to be retired!

I hope someone on the UK meet thread can answer you. I keep sugesting summer dates but nobody has picked up on them yet. How about mid-August??

It'll probably be in London, no doubt, so I'll have to ready myself for the long trek to the big bad South...

No worries about the middle-aged comment though, I didn't think you were referring to me!

A big hello to everyone! I know that you all will love A2K!

What part of Brazil are you from, Bruna? I have quite a few friends from Recife; it's lovely there..

And, unfortunately, I will be in Armenia from July onwards, so probably will not be able to return for the meet..

L'homme est cruel, c'est lui qui veut le pouvoir, c'est lui qui détruit le monde.

Bienvenue ici, orgazmo, chez A2K - mais: la «language normale» içi est Anglais ...

However, you'll certainly find some French speaking members, who will like to improve their French as well!

Enjoy and look around.

Bonjour, Orgazmo!

Hey, Shadowsdancing!

There is a very good FAQ section, presumably made by Craven or another moderator, which should answer everything; but, basically, it consists on clicking on the categories and posts that interest you; reading and replying. If you have a more specific question, feel free to ask me...

For the FAQ section, look up at the top of this page. There is a line of words in small blue letters, and the first one of those is FAQ - click on it and it will take you to the FAQ page.

And, welcome all!
