Mac11, I understand that I might just want to lurk around the political forums here after my other experiences...however, you never know when I'll just have to jump in!

Hi, Helen and Amelia. Welcome. We're mostly a friendly bunch here (unless you happen to disagree with me; then I get vicious.)

Thanks for 3 more welcomes.
Letty, shall we make music for these people...even if Merry Andrew might get vicious and sumac might giggle?
Merry Andrew, if you happen to disagree with me, I get viscous!
Whatcha laughing at, sumac?

With a giggle giggle hear,
And a giggle giggle there,

Hello all, thought it about time I introduced myself.
Name Michael Murphy
Age 24
Main intersts currently are books, ancient egypt and web design. I own several websites and have plans for several more although my time lately seems to be taken up with playing in forums rather than doing content for any of them.
I live in London, UK where I have been for just over two years, lived in Scotland for 12 years before that.
You're most likely to see me in the 'books' and 'web development' sections of the site but I'll add my opinions to most other things, whether relevant or not.
Cheers
Mxx

Murph, anyone willing to wade in the murky waters of ancient Egyptian history, or, worse yet, Egyptian mythology, has my profound admiration . . .

I don't think I use this site properly, and so probably a lot of stuff passes me by. I usually only look at "New Posts" and also for updates of threads I have already contributed to. No doubt I should change my approach. Abuzz had (has?) a feature in which the most popular current topics were identified. That was quite useful.
I get a bit fed up of the political threads. These are a bit like a tennis match in which the ball is never ruled out.
Anyway hello Amelia and Murphyz, I am the local curmudgeon.

Take care!

Helen, have no fear, your English is better than most of the stuff you will see here!
Only joking. Welcome. Frohe Weihnachen.

Hi, looks like I'm the new kid on the block.
Hi all. I found this site while cruising the 'net looking for home improvement information. Turns out it's WAY bigger than that. I haven't had much chance to look around yet, but there seems to be quite a community of comedians here, with good advice to boot, so it looks like I can't go wrong.

Thanks for the welcome Setanta. I'm going to have a little problem with that "windows" thing, since I prefer to travel on two wheels and avoid the windows altogether. If I promise to keep my hands on the clutch and throttle can I stay?

2wheelingwoman, I can tell already you will be an asset to a2k. Yes, it's a big site, but it's still got some kind of community. Welcome!
