Hi! I'm new and just learned last night how to add an avatar. Whew, it's a lot of reading to learn all of this so fast. I still don't understand the PMs. I know I don't have access to them though for some reason.

Maybe more posts... Smile

I'm new and learning
I've been introduced to A2K by BumbleBeeBoogie who is desperately trying to corrupt me. She won't have trouble doing it because I'm well on my way. We recently drove from Albuquerque to redneck country in a van with two dogs. Where's the medicine tray. Help. Our neighbor is buddy with a neurotic dog. In New Mexico I used to go to the symphony with BBB to the movies and to musicals. Now I go to Piggly Wiggly and to break the monotony I go to Food Lion. And on speical occasions, I go to The Dollar Store. Wow! What a fun social life. My husband has hidden all sharp objects. I hope you can lift me out of this hillbilly heaven. Ta Ta

North Carolina had better batten down the hatches because my dear friend is there. She is the funniest person I know with the world's biggest heart. Since she and her husband moved from Albuquerque to North Carolina, I've been trying to help her survive culture shock with daily e-mails and frequent phone calls. Her husband is a retired minister and I'm an atheist. Can't beat that combination. I can't wait to introduce them to North Carolinians Bi-Polar Bear and Squinney and their speagles, about whom I've already warned them.

Welcome to the nut house, dear friend.

He is a consevative republican but we are pretty good freinds. Give him the works. Twisted Evil

Ah, that's correct, what's your point? Why are you chasing me around and taking things out of context? I didn't practice avatars prior to registering, nor did I keep up on every single thread. I "visited" and read now and then.

Can you tell me if the report function works?

Great, so any doubt surrounding the identity of a new poster, alties, and return posters could be resolved in this fashion?

If that's the case, I'd imagine that should calm the fears of veteran posters and allow the new poster to feel welcome as opposed to the feeling of jumping into the middle of a bullfight.

Problem solved. Why the hesitation to report new posters if believed to be someone else?

Not this old chesnut?!

OK, fill me in - who's alleged to be who and who is the alleged, alleged to be?

Welcome LittleBitty...

Whoever you are.

Thank you kindly for the welcome. I've never posted here before and have but one name and need only one name. I'm a stickler for rules. Smile

My apologies, it was not my intent to go spouting off about this again. I just want to resolve it once and for all. Embarrassed

I guess there was some trouble here before with some questionable characters, and when I joined (with my husband) we were understandably put to the test as there seem to be some repeat offenders that come back and disguise themselves as newcomers.

I was hoping that we could be reported, and that would put this matter to rest. I'm not thrilled with the idea of being reported, but if it solves the problem, I certainly wouldn't mind.

I've been on other boards and have had the same frustrations, so I do somewhat understand the hesitation at embracing all newcomers.

I imagine some folks do that. The Report button is for bringing to the attention of the Moderating Team any issue thought to be of concern. If the team determines a reported item involves violation of The Terms has occurred, or if there is other legitimate concern, action as appropriate is taken. Generally, there isn't much discussion on the boards about what the Moderators do or don't do - perhaps the most understandable way to put it is "If you don't know what's going on, it doesn't involve you". See Announcement: *** Contacting the moderators (please read) ***

I've read all of those threads pertaining to TOS and they're similar to all other boards with the exception of ban/suspension, but thank you anyway for the information.

While some folks don't even bother to read the pertinent stuff, reading does not necessarilly equate to understanding ... though of course its a first step.

Well, the way I understand "The Rules" here, everyone is expected to abide by "The Rules" ... Newbie, Vetreran,"Altie", "Return Poster", whatever ... on these boards, the same rules apply across the board. I don't see anything in "The Rules" preventing anyone from maintaining more than one member identity; while it isn't encouraged, and it can lead to problematic situations, it isn't prohibited, though all member identities are expected to abide by "The Rules".
