Greetings. When I first stumbled into A2K I did not notice the instructions to introduce myself.
Permit me to do so now. I happened upon this site while looking up recipes and thought it might be interesting to chat with other people who like cooking.
Just today I came across the topic about pet peeves in the English language. There are a lot of posts there and it will take me some time to get through them all but I am finding them very interesting!
I am from British Columbia, Canada but am currently living in Brisbane, Australia and will be living here for the next three or four years. I do hope that I will get used to this infernal heat and humdity!
My husband and I plan to live in northern Canada when we return home just so we can cool off a bit !
I am looking forward to being a part of A2K and hope to get to know some of you along the way.

Hello to everybody!

I've been here for about 2 weeks now, and I'm very pleased to be here. I did an awful lot of searches to find a message board just like this one. From what I can see, this is the best one for many reasons:

• Lots of different forums with countless topics; something for everybody
  
• A good number of members here who are friendly and helpful
  
• Lots of daily posting going on to keep one interested
  
• Good, clean fun going on with no crude language
  
• Useful and informative information available
  

Able2Know has proved that you don't have to be biggest to be best! Way to go guys! I'm glad to be part of this community and hope I can do as well as all the other folks here.

Oh, we have some, or reference some crude language from time to time, all the while trying to adhere to the Terms of Service, but we try quite seriously not to use what we call 'ad hominems' - words against the person you are arguing with, if you happen to be arguing. We try to foster counterpoints against an argument, not against the person.

This is sometimes hard to learn how to do, but worth it - people's abilities to discuss and make logical, defensible arguments do sharpen here on a2k.

Me, I am still learning, mostly by reading.

I have just joined up to this site. I have been browsing the forums here for a little while, and am very impressed by the breadth of subjects covered here and the knowledge possessed by the posters. Hoping I can offer a fraction of what I will get out of being involved here.

I was looking for some advice on how to deal with sulks in your life ! I landed up here....looks like I am going to enjoy this !
