The trick is possible because Google searches more than just the contents of web pages - it also counts how often a site is linked to, and with what words. Thus, members of an online community can affect the results of Google searches - called "Google bombing" - by linking their sites to a chosen one.
i know its old news, but not everyone knows it.
What is interesting is that in googling "faiure," the first three hits refer, in order, to the Shrub, Jimmy Carter and Michael Moore. Plenty for all to love in that .

I always wondered if a booby prize meant that you get a booby or that you are a booby.
That's odd - I did it and Bush was first Michael Moore second, but Carter didn't even show up.
