@JGoldman10,
Quote:
I was asking others who celebrate Kwanzaa what was their experience like celebrating it.

1. If you genuinely (care and respect) people's experiences of celebrating Kwanzaa,
then don't denigrate them when asking them your question.

2. No one is telling you whether you should or shouldn't celebrate Kwanzaa.

3. No one is telling you whether you should or shouldn't celebrate Hanukkah.

@JGoldman10,
1. I remember some years ago someone was explaining Kwanzaa to me.

2. My understanding is that Kwanzaa is not a (religious) holiday.

3. It's my understanding that Kwanzaa is a (cultural) holiday.

4. Celebrating Kwanzaa doesn't have anything to do with,
whether or not you celebrate Christmas.

5. You can do one, you can do both, or you can do neither.

6. Let me just point out to you that Mothers Day and Fathers Day
are also (cultural) holidays.

@Real Music,
Not over here.

Mothering Sunday was the day one would return to one's mother church, in one's old parish.

Now it's Mother's Day, but it's not the same as yours, it's in March.

Father's Day is the same.
