@tsarstepan,
Sure it is, it takes place during Christmas and features Christmas music.

@tsarstepan,
Of course it is. What would Christmas be without a hostage situation at the Nakatomi Plaze in Los Angeles?

1. Even though the movie does takes place during Christmas, I would not categorize it as being a Christmas movie.

2. Christmas is nothing more than an (incidental backdrop) that doesn't really have anything to do with the movie.

It's a Christmas film, the action takes place at a Christmas Party and people are dressed as Father Christmas.

How else could "Now I have a machine gun, ho, ho, ho," have worked?

In the traditional sense of a Christmas movie, I'd say no, although it has been years since I've seen it.

Close enough. Is the 'Nightmare Before Christmas' a Christmas movie?

@bobsal u1553115,
I consider it a Christmas movie. It's what I consider my second favorite Christmas movie of all time. Tokyo Godfathers (2003) being my favorite.

Please note that my avatar now reflects the love of the latter film.

@tsarstepan,
And that's my point: of course 'Die Hard' is a Christmas movie. And so is Nightmare Before Christmas, even if baby Jeebus gets no screen time.

How much about Christmas is 'It's a Wonderful Life'? Not much - you could remove all references to Christmas and the movie doesn't change much, just like Die Hard. But 'It's a Wonderful Life is a Christmas' movie.

It's been awhile since I've seen it. But if I recall correctly, the first sequel (the one at an airport) took place during Christmas too.

@bobsal u1553115,
I don't remember it being all that bad.

Rotten Tomatoes ranks it as not as good as the first movie, but still reasonably good:

On a $70MM production budget, it didn't lose any money at the box office, making a worldwide total of $240MM.

@bobsal u1553115,
1. I first saw the movie "Die Hard" back when it was first released.

2. I really enjoyed the movie "Die Hard."

3. When it comes to the genre of Action movies, "Die Hard" is probably in my top 10.

4. One side note: I like the first "Die Hard" movie more than any of the sequels.

5. I wasn't impressed by any of the sequels.
