Which Christmas week (US) theatrical release do you DREAD seeing the most as your family, friends, and/or significant other will drag you to the movie theater to see it?
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked (2011) ;
The Darkest Hour (2011);
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011);
Mission Impossible (2011);
Newlyweds (2011);
War Horse (2011);
We Bought a Zoo (2011);
Other?
*I generally don't go to the movies during Christmas week.
@tsarstepan,
the one most people are talking about here is Chip-Wrecked.
I likely won't go, but it's got our office vote.
@tsarstepan,
Damn - I would dread the most the Chipmunk movie - my kids love the Chipmunk movies and just hearing those voices (forget about the horrible story lines) make me cringe. Can't even nap during this movie because of the high pitch voices. At least I've had the pleasure of napping during other horrible children movies.
@tsarstepan,
If we went on Christmas day (and I hope we don't) it would probably be War Horse. Even the commercials choke me up lol. It looks to be at least a 4-hanky affair and crying in public is just not good
@Irishk,
IrishK, I'm hoping that War Horse will be a great film. Really want to see it because of Spielberg and the trailer but there's a subconscious itch in the back of my mind that's giving me some minor hesitation I can't put my finger on.
@tsarstepan,
I only saw that one trailer, but Emily Watson!!! And Spielberg!!! I know what you mean, though. I'll put it off as long as possible -- probably buy it on blu ray.
My sister's home video highlights of 2011 which she is releasing at her Christmas party.
@wandeljw,

@wandeljw,
Damn sorry I'm gonna miss that one - you poor sap
And its almost like you have to act like you are interested...at the chipmunks I don't have to.

Sounds like a great time to stock up on movies on DVD.
already putting together a compilation disc of Last of the Summer Wine Christmas episodes, and we have the Monarch of the Glen Hogmanay special as well, that and the Queens message should get us through the holidays
@djjd62,
plus i'll be listening to Sherwin Sleeve's super secret subscription only Stalwart's episodes of Atoms, Motion and the Void, as well as his more widely available The Rule Book & Calendar of Kittery Embers podcast
@djjd62,
Now that's what I call being well prepared!
@msolga,
tv is usually pretty crap christmas to new years, thankfully the mr. bean fixation has passed on the CBC, during the holidays they showed marathons of the show, i rather enjoyed them the first few hundred times i saw them
@djjd62,
Hey, they might throw in Fawlty Towers, too!
Good ol Mr Bean!
i will be going for extremely loud incredibly close. I think it would be a great movie.
