Now I'm listening a song titled "Down Nuh River" by Serpentwithfeet.
In this song, there is a part,
"Where you fallin' at? Hell nah, hell nah
Go, go, go, go, go swimmin' down nuh river now
Ooh, you tryna get me in trouble now"
What is nuh river?
I don't understand the meaning of nuh here.
Is it a name of some river?
@kathy79,
It's an example of African American Vernacular English.
It's a contraction of down the river.
I hear it straight away, maybe it's because I don't have an American accent.
@izzythepush,
Thank you for your kind answer. It helps a lot. : )
