Idiots in politics has been normal long, long before the movie
Forrest Gump. Despite it's whitewashing of the discrimination against Blacks, and the downplaying of the Vietnam War, and its criticism of the movements against them, I still found it to be an entertaining movie. I just chuckle at the idea that one should take life in stride like a charmed savant, and ignore everything wrong with the world as much ado about nothing, and everything will be alright. The producers were peddling a bill of goods.
