Funny how the usual suspects have just noticed Israel. There was a deafening silence from them when Israel was dropping white phosphorous on Palestian children's hospitals.

Not a word when the intifada was going on, yet now when Ukraine is going up in flames they're saying look the other way.

@izzythepush,
Similar, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has left Germany's neo-Nazis confused: should they support the authoritarian Russian leader or far-right nationalists fighting on the Ukrainian side?

Cope cages were improvised on the top of Russian tanks to help protect from Ukrainian weapons, but they proved to be ineffective.

In this meme, Putin is shown wearing a cope cage, which ostensibly will protect him from being ousted or assassinated or the humiliation of losing a war. It will undoubtedly be as ineffective as it is on a tank.

Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian peace negotiators were suspected of suffering from symptoms of poisoning after a meeting in Kiev in early March. This was reported by the "Wall Street Journal" and the research network Bellingcat, among others.

Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian Peace Negotiators Suffer Suspected Poisoning

According to the report, Abramovich and at least two high-ranking members of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation experienced symptoms such as red and watery eyes and peeling skin on their faces and hands. The newspaper referred to people familiar with the negotiations. They blamed "hardliners in Moscow" who allegedly wanted to sabotage the talks to end the war. A person close to Abramovich said it was not clear who had attacked the group.

According to Bellingcat, the symptoms had started in the evening after the negotiations and subsided the next morning. The symptoms were most likely due to poisoning with a chemical warfare agent, but the dose was too low to cause life-threatening damage.

Despite the alleged poisoning, Abramovich has decided to continue participating in the peace talks, reports the Wall Street Journal.

@Lash,
Lash, that would be bad thing. I'd rather he was pulled into a court, like The Hague.

@izzythepush,
Since I am one of the ones here criticizing Israel, you should know that, contrary to your assessment of me, during my time on internet debate forums (16 years), I have never backed down from Israel-sympathizers concerning every crime they commit against the human beings in Palestine; not to mention the willful destruction of the USS Liberty and crew.

I know all about the phosphorous as well as the cluster bombs over Lebanon. I spoke plenty . . .

Patriarch Kirill: Putin ally faces backlash after 'blessing' war

(snip)

Nearly 300 priests and deacons, including military veterans, recently signed an open letter titled Russian Priests for Peace.

“We respect the God-given freedom of man, and we believe that the people of Ukraine should make their choice on their own, not at gunpoint, without pressure from the West or the East,” the letter reads.

(snip)

Priests have not been spared in the crackdown on dissent. One clergyman in central Russia was reportedly fined $330 for using the word “war” in an article on his church’s website. It has become illegal to refer to the ongoing invasion as a war; rather, the Kremlin approved “special military operation” euphemism must be used.

Meanwhile, Orthodox clergy worldwide have condemned the invasion, including Patriarch Daniel of Romania, Archbishop Leo of Finland, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and all Africa, and the heads of the Russian Orthodox Church in Paris and Estonia.

@bobsal u1553115,
Would you be opposed to me private messaging you with a link to a forum where I argued the USS Liberty crime with Israel apologists? I can also provide you with a link to the same forum where I debated land theft with the same bunch of pro-Israel . . . posters.

The reason I make the offer is because you need to be reminded that having fun works both ways. And I think that having your cheap shot exposed as just that would be humorous.

What do you think? Still want to participate, or not?

@Glennn,
Are you thinking the USS Liberty wasn't attacked? It was attacked and I think most people (if they read about it) will understand how and why it happened. It didn't happen because the Liberty was confused as a hostile vessel, it was done on purpose for other reasons, which most of us should understand as hostile and intentional.

Nah, he got this one right. He just can't believe he's in league with most of us. He may have argued it elsewhere I don't think he said much about it here.
