I've only seen a few basketball games and I'm sorry to say this, but I think it's fixed.

For one thing the Harlem Globetrotters always win, and they're allowed all sorts of other things, one of them was using a ladder!

@izzythepush,
They too can be Upwardly mobile!

I’ve got a friend (at least one who admits to it) who said all pro sports are fixed …especially final championship matches/games. Too much money trading hands for the crooks NOT to be involved. I laughed at him but secretly wonder if he was right?

@Ragman,
There is too much money at the top level.

There was recently a probe into spot betting in football, where things like the amount of red cards, corners etc. are betted on .

There were plenty of takers but they were all from the lower leagues, those people whose wages are more in line with everyone else.

They even said there is no way the top players would do it.

You're right about money fixing results, the richest clubs can buy the best players and win the cups titles etc.

When Leicester won the premiership a few years back there was real shock because they're not one of the five teams who always win.

@izzythepush,
Insidious is the word that comes to mind. Don’t let me start on officiating…line judges, referees umpires. Take a home team or big fan favorite (like Messi). Tell me he or they don’t get more than their shares of favored calls. You might say that it’s all a Messi business!

Praying! My ideal final would be the Celtics and Warriors - love both teams.

@Linkat,
Game 7 in Miami! No matter who makes it, they have got their work count out for them facing the Warriors. They’re peaking at just the right time. Both the Heat and Celts have had issues with a tough series and injuries.

@Ragman,
No matter what at least I have a team I like there I'd prefer the Celtics but I would not be unhappy with the warriors.

By the way that is my daughters team ...from high school and coincidently now college.

@Region Philbis,
This goes to show you how important team defense and balanced offense are You can’t just have 2 superstars working their asses off. I thought for sure the way that Curry started out that it was gonna be a long night

On a different matter Celts use of thre 3-pointer (51% effective with loads of attempts) was amazing. Warriors will have to adjust their game or they’ll be SOL. Offensive rebounding is crucial…amongst other aspects. The Williams dude with the dreads has been spectacular!

A rookie coach in a finals for the first time has taken this team to the pinnacle. Very impressive. I can’t wait for the next game. Go Celtics!

@Region Philbis,
<singing> I’ve got high hopes…high hopes…da dee dah de dah!

Seriously, I see this going 7 games and with a happy result. One of the keys is Robert Williams as long as he can play 25 minutes or more.
. If he stays healthy. It’s quite unreal that he came back a month after knee surgery. That wasn’t very long ago either.

@Region Philbis,
Hmmm?, Curry is a worry! Game 6 in Warrior-land, right? Boy, I’m not a betting man for just this sort of circumstance. The team with least turnovers (and dominates in the paint) wins. Safe statement, huh?

Kerr keeps the Warriors in line but I bet he does it with an iron hand. Green won’t steer them off course.

@Region Philbis,
Yeah,. Nothing will keep me away from watching THAT one! I think that Tatum, Brown, centers Horford//Williams need excellent games. Make that 2 games.

As a side note, if the officials have an excellent game I’d be even happier. Not so impressed on that one. They’re not very consistent or evenhanded.

so now I find out when I mentioned that lost the other night - my daughter said she was happy.... I am like what I thought you said you wanted the celtics to win - she said I wanted them to win so we could have a celtics parade...since I will be away when a possible parade would happen and I can't be there then yes I want my favorite team to win....

TRADER!

I will rip that Tatum shirt off her back if she tries to wear it again!
