I haven't seen basketball discussed on the forums. Maybe I missed it. I mostly have been following the Nets and Rockets. As a James Hardin fan it looks as though I will now follow the 76ers.

I think most people are pretty tuned out on the NBA until playoffs. I know I am and it seems like most of the players and teams are too. I'm pretty sure their viewership has dropped off a lot recently because of this. And maybe because players like your boy Harden are forcing their way off teams by simply putting in zero effort or feigning an injury.

When I was at primary school sport was strictly segregated, the boys played football and the girls played netball which is similar to basketball.

This meant that despite the odd TV appearance by the Harlem Globetrotters, basketball remained very much a girl's sport for a very long time.

It's only become popular over here in the last twenty years or so.

I think because football is so popular there's a natural reluctance to pick up a ball.

I never liked basketball most of my life. Possibly because of the US' most popular sports, it's the one I am the least adept at. But association with a few people I like a lot has bent my view and I love it enough to follow a few teams now and watch a few games. A few people I've talked with about it said they don't like the games because a team can lead the whole game and lose in the last second. Such is life, I always figure.

If Ivwas going to order up a team, it’d play like Celts do…balanced 2=or 3-headed offense and multi-player team defense. Made short work of team that had big plans for a long playoff run. Problem is eventually they’ll have to face the Bucks.

Ah.l San Diego State Univ has a gridiron football team called the
Aztecs.

I like that name for a futbol team, though.
