Why what fresh breath you have, Mr. Gift Horse!

For activities today I have suggested:

Zoo
Lunch in a restaurant.
Swimming.
Gardening.
Park picnic.

Mo has rejected all of these offers and instead is playing quietly on his own.

I've been able to clear up a backlog of work, I've read, I've A2ked.

We have loafed around, goofed off and done absolutely nothing.

And he's been happy about it. Downright jolly in fact.

What gives?

I could so easily get used to this!

What a funny subject title. Smile

I can't believe Mo has rejected swimming and the zoo!!! I can only pray life will be just as easy for me.

Me: Ohhhh.... you want a Sing A' Long tape instead of having to get all your winter clothes on to go to the park in freezing Alaska? I love you. Smile

Boomer--

Savor your blessings and use the day of peace to recoup.

Do let him know how pleasant Do Nothing days are for you.

All the same, little do you know that Mighty Mo only seems to be playing quietly. He is actually mulling over several very interesting de-construction projects which he will implement this afternoon or tomorrow.

You are warned. Meanwhile, enjoy.

Jo, I'll bet you'll love Alaska. Everyone who I know whose gone there has adored it and pines to go back. Of course, Oregon is full of nature nuts and that might explain it in part.

We had a few days of wonderful peace that was disrupted yesterday by the tantrum of the century!

And the deconstruction has already started up again (if you've seen my garden photos you'll see the signs of an early harvest)!

Still, it does seem as if we've entered a little phase of independence and it is very nice.

Somebody said before that you are the most creative thread title maker-upper, I have to heartily agree.

Little Mo is entering a wonderful phase and this shows that he is maturing, and that he's actually not very far behind kids of the same age who have had a lot less obstacles.

Believe me, I've sniffed the breath of every gift horse out there.

I'm so ready for Mo to catch up on the maturity thing, Free Duck!

You have no idea how much I love this kid. Laughing

Um, not to mess with either end of a horse but...

It's not quiet because he snuck out of the house without you knowing, right?

Oh my gosh! He did that last night, squinney!

He was watching a movie in the bedroom with Mr. B. I was in my office working on some photos. After a bit I hear Mr. B snoring so I figured Mo was asleep too.

A bit later I went to the garage to put out some cat food for the strays that congregate in the night and heard a bunch of noise. I thought the baby racoons were back so I started sneaking up.

There's Mo, in his Bob the Builder underpants with a shovel and spade, sitting in a suitcase, pretending he's a Viking.

He'd snuck past my office and crawled out the dog door and was having a wonderful time.

At least he was quietly playing on his own so I really can't complain.

That's hilarious, though I know it's also nerve racking. I love the pretend play stage.
