the verb "rock" and the noun "the air"

Hello, I am listening to the new song "best of me" by Alicia keys.
As a non-English native speaker, the lyrics are so tricky to understand.

for example, "You get the best of me/ We can live on/The air/,,,
We gonna rock forever."

==>In this context, the air is literally the air around us?
and "what is the meaning of the verb rock?

It means to be awesome? We gonna rock=We gonna to be awesome?

Please explain the words I don't understand. Thank you in advance!

In lyrics, the word rock nearly always means to play music, listen to music, dance to music, etc. At times, it's used as slang for sexual intercourse, but that's not the context here.

As for 'the air', she means that she and her love can survive with nothing sustaining them. That is, if you have nothing to eat all day, it could be said that you're eating air.

Rock is short for rock music. Poetic licence is used a great deal in music, particularly with this word.

It literally means enjoying or playing rock music, but is generally meant to mean enjoyment in the wider sense of the word.

ROCK is also used as a compliment, as in "You rock!" ( You're great) or "I rocked it" (I did it really well).

And 'rock' can also mean to have a good time, to party, to hang out, so not necessarily always about music.
