@Stacy24,
Don't take Izzy too seriously. He gets silly when he is enraged about something.

When someone suggests White people never go to jail and calling people Nazis, they have crossed a line from extreme to silly.

For some reason I am put in mind of an annoying little jack Russell that tries to shag your leg every time you walk past.

In the cause of sanity, let's talk about some basic facts.

1. There are hundreds of thousands of White people in jail in the US, many for murder.

2. There are hundreds of thousands of Black people who have been acquitted for murder in the US. Some of them used a successful self-defense defense.

3. Most Black people who are murdered are murdered by other Black people (93%). There are very few murder where a White person kills a Black person. Most White people are murdered by White people too (although it is slightly more likely for a Black person to murder a White person than the other way around).

4. There is zero evidence that Rittenhouse planned to kill anyone. The impartial jury found as much.

5. Kyle Rittenhouse was a stupid 17 year old kid when this all happened. Lots of 17 year old kids do stupid things (and this was a very stupid thing). This is a traumatic event, but there is no reason that he can't work through this and have a decent life.

The irony of that, England is the birthplace of White Supremacy.
The words “race,” “white,” and “slave” were all used by British (not only English) people and (in their own languages) Europeans in the 1500's. Before the 17th century, people did not think of themselves as belonging to something called the white race, the words did not have the meanings that they have today.

@Stacy24,
Stacy,

I am arguing against the silliness of both extremes. In the US at least, the people who associate themselves as nazi's (i.e. the people who do the Nazi salute and wear swastikas) are without question on the extreme Right Wing.

I am making fun of the left for their tantrum over the verdict... it is extreme.

I also make fun of the extremes of the political right.

In my opinion, the US is being pulled apart by the two extremes, and each side is getting more angry and more crazy.

Got it. It looks like all the news companies who were calling Rittenhouse a neo Nazi are going to be sued for defamation. I feel really bad for this young man, he will have a hard life ahead even having to move from his home for safety being threatened.

The British Colonial Empire was based on the idea that they are superior. The doctrine was that by subjugating indigenous peoples they were bringing "civilization" to the world.

The Slave Trade was a big part of that. The British colonial power was always about Superiority.

Nonsense. Nazis and neonazis take the worst ideas from both the right and the left.

The Nazi Party was about as socialistic as were JD Rockefeller and JP Morgan.

Yeah, the word was in the party title...but it meant as much as "Holy" "Roman" and "Empire" meant in the title, "The Holy Roman Empire."

You want SANITY, Max...reflect on this for a second or two:

Imagine, if you will, a black male in his late teens advancing toward police lines carrying a AR15 style assault weapon after having used it to shoot three people...killing two of them.

Do you see the police treating him the way they treated Rittenhouse? Do you see them beckoning him...welcoming him...the way they did Rittenhouse?

Have you gone completely nuts, Max?

Britannica wrote:
Were the Nazis socialists? No, not in any meaningful way, and certainly not after 1934. But to address this canard fully, one must begin with the birth of the party.

In 1919 a Munich locksmith named Anton Drexler founded the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP; German Workers’ Party). Political parties were still a relatively new phenomenon in Germany, and the DAP—renamed the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP; National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or Nazi Party) in 1920—was one of several fringe players vying for influence in the early years of the Weimar Republic. It is entirely possible that the Nazis would have remained a regional party, struggling to gain recognition outside Bavaria, had it not been for the efforts of Adolf Hitler. Hitler joined the party shortly after its creation, and by July 1921 he had achieved nearly total control of the Nazi political and paramilitary apparatus.

To say that Hitler understood the value of language would be an enormous understatement. Propaganda played a significant role in his rise to power. To that end, he paid lip service to the tenets suggested by a name like National Socialist German Workers’ Party, but his primary—indeed, sole—focus was on achieving power whatever the cost and advancing his racist, anti-Semitic agenda. After the failure of the Beer Hall Putsch, in November 1923, Hitler became convinced that he needed to utilize the teetering democratic structures of the Weimar government to attain his goals.

Over the following years the brothers Otto and Gregor Strasser did much to grow the party by tying Hitler’s racist nationalism to socialist rhetoric that appealed to the suffering lower middle classes. In doing so, the Strassers also succeeded in expanding the Nazi reach beyond its traditional Bavarian base. By the late 1920s, however, with the German economy in free fall, Hitler had enlisted support from wealthy industrialists who sought to pursue avowedly anti-socialist policies. Otto Strasser soon recognized that the Nazis were neither a party of socialists nor a party of workers, and in 1930 he broke away to form the anti-capitalist Schwarze Front (Black Front). Gregor remained the head of the left wing of the Nazi Party, but the lot for the ideological soul of the party had been cast.

Hitler allied himself with leaders of German conservative and nationalist movements, and in January 1933 German President Paul von Hindenburg appointed him chancellor. Hitler’s Third Reich had been born, and it was entirely fascist in character. Within two months Hitler achieved full dictatorial power through the Enabling Act. In April 1933 communists, socialists, democrats, and Jews were purged from the German civil service, and trade unions were outlawed the following month. That July Hitler banned all political parties other than his own, and prominent members of the German Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party were arrested and imprisoned in concentration camps. Lest there be any remaining questions about the political character of the Nazi revolution, Hitler ordered the murder of Gregor Strasser, an act that was carried out on June 30, 1934, during the Night of the Long Knives. Any remaining traces of socialist thought in the Nazi Party had been extinguished.

@hightor,
Progressives sure spend a lot of effort trying to whitewash history.

Reality remains true no matter how much progressives deny it. The Nazis took bad ideas from both the right and the left.

Less:
- he name of the empire derives from the claim of the medieval Roman-German rulers to continue the tradition of the ancient Roman Empire and to legitimise their rule as God's holy will in the Christian sense.
- Hitler defined the devotion of the individual to his national community as "nationalism"; he called its responsibility for the individual "socialism".

You've never told the truth even once.

Mr. Rittenhouse's gun was not even remotely an assault weapon.

As I recall the police pepper sprayed Mr. Rittenhouse and told him to stay away when he tried to surrender to them.

Maybe to a delusional progressive pepper spray is welcoming.

@Walter Hinteler,
Max sounds jealous, and he still has no understanding of irony.

England is also the birth place of Thomas Paine and the Magna Carta.

Again Max is dodging the points I made and resorting to bigotry.

If they played football they'd understand ghe difference between playing the ball and playing the man.
