What’s up with asking for gift card payment? Scam?

Why are escorts etc. asking for payment in the form of an eBay or other gift card? Is there a scam associated with this practice?

Authorities such as the IRS track credit card transactions. Using Gift cards and EBay is like paying cash.

Yes, it's a scam Smile It's always a scam when they say you can pay with ToysRUs, Starbucks, etc gift cards.
