I have always liked singing until in choir, when I was 9, the choir master told me I could only stay in the choir if I mouthed the words. That really impacted me because I didn't know that everybody couldn't sing. I mean, really, looking back, how bad could a 9 year old be -- in a church choir? Anyway, I can't sing in tune and rarely sing, and when I do, as in in the car, sometimes I have to slap myself I'm so bad. I keep singing anyhow (but it's more like a whisper-sing).
So... one thing I would wish is that I can sing in tune. I also wish I had the answer to all problems, (i.e. God) and time-travel. I wish I could go back into any time at all and spend an hour, a day, a week and really experience that time. Elon Musk - get on it!!
My one and only prayer
Is that you'll sing 'yeah yeah'
My hopes and dreams are few
And so this one's for you
No-one will ever know
The pain if you sing low
My only prayer will be
Some day you'll hit high 'c'
But it's all only make believe

I wish I could fart the National Anthem, I can do the first two notes but after God save I **** myself.
It could be worse I suppose, I could get the first three before shitting myself.
Then it would be God save the ****, and if anyone were to hear me doing that I’d be arrested for treason.
I wish I could play the piano, but I ran away from home when I was 4 or 5 because of the damn piano lessons and never learned. Maybe that's a regret and a wish tied into one.
I'd love to be able to fly. I have had many dreams where I am flying - flapping my arms as I get higher and higher -- it feels so free.
But I can emphasize with you on the singing - my own mother would say I sing so bad that if they have guests over that are overstaying their welcome, they will just have me sing. Even my own mother could not stand my singing. The only time anyone enjoyed my singing was when my children were infants - I'd sing to them and it seemed to sooth them (or maybe it is just because they were babies and could not tell me to shut up).
As long as we don't have to sing, I'm good with that Boy, that would probably sound dreadful ha ha ha Can you just imagine?

I sing compulsively, slings and arrows be damned.
Stephen Crane: There was a man with tongue of wood
There was a man with tongue of wood
Who essayed to sing,
And in truth it was lamentable.
But there was one who heard
The clip-clapper of this tongue of wood
And knew what the man
Wished to sing,
And with that the singer was content.

Then you're not doing it right, try oiling up with some olive oil first.
I wish I could draw like my father . You could give him any subject matter and he would draw it out for you. I remember a kid once asked him to draw a train and he did this beautiful locomotive coming down the track. I think he had a photographic memory or some other talent that enabled him to be able to just draw at will.
It was really amazing. In his last days at the Veteran's hospital, he would draw and trade dirty pictures with the other patients for cigarettes.

Is that what you do?
Yes, I'm in a quartet and we perform at nursing homes.
