I remember reading an article years ago. It said that the grandson of the real Bat Masterson, who remembered his grandfather, hated the show.
He said his grandfather was nothing like the show.
As I recall, it was a pretty good show, historically accurate or not.
I don't think TV shows had the budget to spend on historical research at that time.
As I recall, there were TV shows where Johnny Ringo and Billy the Kid were portrayed as good guys.
I wonder how accurate the Kevin Costner movie, "Wyatt Earp," was about the Mastersons.
