There is a document that has a copyright on the bottom that says 2002-2021. My question specifically is if that document was last updated in 2021 or could it have been printed in 2020 and still say 2002-2021? My assumption is if it were printed in 2020, it would say 2002-2020 but I'm not very versed in copyrighting.
@TommTomm,
Is the question too broad or too hard to answer?
@TommTomm,
I think it’s too specific. There is a disclaimer that A2K does not offer legal or medical advice, and this comes into the category of the former.
You need to talk to a lawyer about this.
@izzythepush,
Oh I see. Well honestly the question doesn't actually involve copyright law. I am just trying to determine if they forward date copyrights like if it were 2021, would papers still say (c)2002-2022 or if it would have to say 2002-2021. When I try to look up how that works online, it just gives me a bunch of copyright law stuff that is unrelated.
@TommTomm,
That
is copyright law.
Do yourself a favor and pay an attorney before you make a costly mistake.
@TommTomm,
I’m sorry, your guess is as good as mine.
