How come there has never been a month-long observance for Christians?

@JGoldman10,
Quote:
Why is the U.S. government secular if it was once "founded under God"?

That motto was added in the 1950s during the Cold War.

Quote:
I saw a program on Christian TV a couple of years back in which they found physical proof that the Founding Fathers were Christians.

That was never a secret; George Washington used a Bible in his inauguration.

The Founding Fathers were Christians, but they didn't want to impose their faith onto others. That was how the American colonies started in the first place: pilgrims left England to escape persecution.

I believe I posted a link to this a long time ago.

I have a book that a Christian wrote about the truth about Roman Catholicism.

We get it. You mentioned all of this several times before. You are just repeating stuff we already heard.

Are you referring to the Pledge of Allegiance?

@JGoldman10,
Yes, the "One Nation Under God" and the "In God We Trust" that is on US Currency. Both were added in the 1950s.

@izzythepush,
yeh, Lent is celebrated by debauchery and gluttony on day D-1 Then for the next 40 days Christians supplicate and eat nothing but cold gruel, and make up stories about a holy zombie.

BRILLIANT!!

@JGoldman10,
All 12 months are Christian history month. They're also all White history month and men's history month.

Seriously. You're in the majority. Stop envying others' small celebrations.

@jespah,
I'm a Christian and an African American. How am I "in the majority"? What "majority"?

I assume most Americans know February is Black History Month.

We also have Black Music Month in June:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American_Music_Appreciation_Month

There's also National Hispanic Heritage Month:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Hispanic_Heritage_Month

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Pacific_American_Heritage_Month

and Native American Indian Heritage Month:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_Indian_Heritage_Month

https://www.ncai.org/initiatives/native-american-heritage-month#:~:text=November%20is%20Native%20American%20Heritage,important%20contributions%20of%20Native%20people.

There's a bunch of other month-long observances in the U.S. I didn't list:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Commemorative_months

There is no "White History Month" or a "Men's History Month".

The Chronicles of Narnia is NOT a CHRISTIAN story and neither are the movies that are based on it. I was annoyed and offended when some people on CHRISTIAN TV were praising and identifying the book and the movies that were based on the book as such.

The official title of the first movie in the film series is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Having "Witch" in the title is a red flag right there.

I have always considered Narnia a Christian story.

1) The Witch is the bad guy in the story (clearly representing Satan).

2) The Lion is representing Jesus. He is the Son of the Creator. He is sacrificed; killed by the Witch, to forgive the sins of the world. He is resurrected on the third day and raised to his power.

3) The Author was a devout Christian and wrote many non-fiction books on how to be a good Christian.

Sigh. Roman Catholicism IS NOT CHRISTIAN.

The Catholics abandoned God's laws and teachings in exchange for their own.

Jews did the same thing.

The Catholics have their own version of the Bible. They added to and/or took things out of it.

The Christian Bible clearly says NOT to do that:

"You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I am commanding you (Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, Revelation 22:18)."

Also, Catholics do a lot of practices and have a lot of beliefs that contradict what's in the Christian Bible.

Your hypocrisy is pretty carcinogenic. Good to know you're antisemitic as well.

@jespah,
Did you know there's a Jewish Heritage Month?:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_American_Heritage_Month

JEWS get a month dedicated to them, but I assume it's just about their heritage and NOT about Judaism.

I hope you aren't serious.

White people ruined Christianity. It was White Christians who started and supported the brutal institution of slavery in the United States.

White Christianity is now the religion of hatred and anger... this has nothing to do with Biblical Christianity.

@tsarstepan,
I am not anti-Semitic. My DAD was a Jewish man. Most Jews don't accept Jesus as the Messiah. This goes back to biblical times.

@maxdancona,
Really? It's a good thing that African Americans were introduced to Christianity then. There are over 48 million African Americans as opposed to only about 5 million Native Americans.

I have told some Native Americans that if more Native Americans had embraced Christianity like the African Americans did there would probably be a lot more Native Americans left.

That doesn't prove anything other than your willingness to throw your father under the proverbial bus (whether he deserves it or not).

Have you never heard of the real-to-life trope, self-hating Jew?

Quote:
Self-hating Jew or self-loathing Jew, both associated with auto-antisemitism, is a term applied to Jews perceived to hold antisemitic views.[1] Similar accusations of discomfort with ones own Jewishness were already being made by some[according to whom?] Jews against other Jews, before Zionism existed as a movement. The concept gained widespread currency after Theodor Lessing's 1930 book Der jüdische Selbsthaß (Jewish Self-hatred), which sought to explain a perceived inclination among Jewish intellectuals, toward inciting antisemitism, by stating their views about Judaism. The term is said to have become "something of a key term of opprobrium in and beyond Cold War-era debates about Zionism".

@tsarstepan,
I corrected my post. My dad was a White Jewish man. He was a Christian.

I am not considered Jewish because my MOM is not Jewish. That is what Jewish law dictates.

If you don't believe me ask a Jewish rabbi.

Hmmmm... you really need to think about this. Because it doesn't make sense.

What happened is that millions of people were were violently ripped apart from their families. They loaded on ships like animals and a large proportion of them died. Those who survived were sold.

Slaves could be beaten or raped at will. They were worked to death and treated like animals.

Are you saying that this was a good thing?

1. The people who killed Native Americans were White Christians.
2. The people who enslaved African Americans were White Christians.

Are you really going to say that this was a good thing?
