Now that the air is getting a bit more tolerable (a balmy 40 degrees right now) it got me thinking about all the warm weather drinks I like to have.

There's the basic Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and the Hefe Weizens. Then there's gin and tonics and mojitos.

I also like to mix up non-alcoholic frappes with extra ice cream and extra syrup. Or lime rickeys with simple syrup that I shake up in a clean mayonnaise jar.

What are your favorite summertime drinks? Are there special twists that make your margarita just right? Is there a secret to the lemonade?

And now for a musical interlude:

Cold Beverages
by G. Love & Special Sauce

Yo- could I get a cold beverage
I need some leverage
It's sunny outside
Some lemonade would be nice
Or a sprite through the drive through
At B.K. Yo I'll buy girl a drink
But girls got to pay
On the front porch I got
Some iced tea
If you like a taste of tea
Then come along with me
It's martini time
Yeah yeah feeling golden
Bring your own beverage
Just make sure it's cold
I like cold beverage
Give me a frosty mug
Filled with A&W
If you got ice cream
Make it a double scoop
Milkshake at the fountain
Really good sounding
Chocolate egg cream
Yo, I'm champ cherry pounding
Caught a chill vibe
Orange juice in my ride
Wawa's to the right
They got a beverage inside
Dig me a hot coffee
Fill it up with ice
Watermelons like drink
Please fix me a large slice
Summertime is cool the heat is getting old
Yeah I'll get a beverage
Just make sure it's cold cold
I like cold beverage
When I'm fishing
Let's keep one thing clear
The baits over there
The brews right here
Two six packs and a big bag of ice
Didn't even catch a bit
But the brew tasted nice
Back to the bar
Strawberry daiquiris and a colada
I need a whole lotta them
Fruit drinks to catch me a buz
I must tell you I'm the
Cool Aid kid
Before you serve my drink
Please stick it in the fridge
I like cold beverage

Raspberry lime rickeys!
And then an IBC root beer float.

As for margaritas, fresh-squeezed lemon, lime, and orange juices, Grand Marnier, and Sauza Tres Generaciones on the rocks with light salt is what I'd like right about now.

Well, a cool draft IPA is always a treat on a warm day, but a gin and tonic is really something special!

Dig a plain, on the rocks margarita.

Sangria.

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, on tap, in a big glass.

I'm definitely with you on the Mojitos.

On a hot day I love nice cold beer, ice coffee, those coffee colada's you get at Dunkin Donuts or Tim Horton's here in Canada, strawberry daquauri, lemonade, etc...

Gin 'n' tonics!
Ice cream floats
Rasp-Lime ricky! Have one about once a year.
I live on fruit smoothies when the weather gets HOT.
Margarita's are wonderful if done right. No rose's Lime, No Triple sec. A splash of grand marnier. Lots of fresh squeezed lime. Salted rim. Nothing beats a margarita after landscaping on the cape.

Oh, I almost forgot: smashing a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon over my head, then chugging a warm 6-pack within 5 minutes.

There's a place in Central Square, Cambridge, called Cuchi Cuchi and it's one of my favorites. They fill pint glasses with ice, throw fresh fruit in (blueberries and lemons for example) then 'muddle' it - smash it up together with a big wooden mortar.

Then they pour liquor over it and strain it all into a martini glass. Blackberry Cosmopolitans, Blueberry Lemon Martinis, Mojitos and more. They even Pisco Sours. Yummaaayyy!

Anyone wanna go for a drink?
