What does "put off" mean here? Does "they are especially not pleased by women"?

They are offended by women in any position of power or leadership. These people are often put off by women who are office managers, company CEOs, Corporation Executives....

I've checked out both Cambridge Dictionary and Random House Unabridged English Dictionary and Oxford Dictionaries, the most close definition I found is "put off - Cause someone to feel dislike or distrust." That the "put off" means "offended" is really clear.
