Hi My dad has dementia and is being funded by the council in a residential home, his wife my step mom inherited some money approx. £50,000 but she gave this money away to my 2 step sisters. My question is can she inherit this on her own if she is married would it have been jointly my fathers ? who has no capacity and we both hold POA for finances for? I wasn't sure if she has done this so she doesn't pay any care fees? depriving the assets.
Thanks

@wendywoo54,
Great question for a solicitor. When the money gets into the 5 digits and up, it's time to stop doing it yourself and call in (and pay) an expert.
