K1 IRS estate form

My father passed 7/2019 and his estate is not closed yet. We have received IRS for (2019) K1 forms and were told to amend our 2019 taxes and pay taxes. But we have not even received the money yet. The dollar amount on the form is a gross amount before estate fees are taken out. So it isn’t even the dollar amount we are to receive. We are told from the personal representative of his estate we will not get our money until we amend our taxes and pay our taxes on monies we have not received yet. Anyone have any insight to this.
