Hiding Joe Biden is the Democratic strategy and they are doing it well

Tue 14 Jul, 2020 11:19 am

Monday was the first day of the Democratic National Convention. You might be forgiven for not knowing that, as the news was nowhere. Not in the papers, not on the shows, and not in the morning news letters most of Washington relies on for what to think that day.
-----
The revelation of the platform for the media and the candidate’s acceptance speech are likely the longest-lasting effects of the week, so it’s no surprise Democrats don’t want a convention — and no surprise corporate media are covering for them.

The party has moved farther to the left than any Biden primary supporter might have imagined, and the candidate has mentally deteriorated at a rapid rate too many of us recognize from family experiences.
------

“We’re going to have a breathtaking opportunity… to rewrite our economy,” Biden agreed from his home, his blue blazer struggling to stay on his sagging shoulders.

The stuff of left-wing rallies, sure. The stuff of national elections? Rarely. But then, there won’t be any rallies for the people to see, and in their stead America has a corporate media willing to tell us the proposals above are “moderate.”

“This agenda that you’ve laid out here is not the agenda of a man who is trying to reach out beyond his own party for support [to win the election],” 55-year political reporting veteran Brit Hume commented. “This is a man who is simply trying to solidify support within his own party, and he might be right about that.

@Dr Sliptinschit,
This is rather obvious....

If this Election is about Donald Trump, Donald Trump will lose big. No one loves Joe Biden. The Left isn't thrilled about the Biden. The center isn't thrilled about Biden.

Joe Biden's job is to not be Trump. He will answer every question with a form of the answer "I wouldn't be Trump". We don't want this election to be about him.

This election is about defeating Trump. Everyone on our side understands this. Biden's job is mostly to stay out of the way.

@maxdancona,
Joe Biden is Wonder Bread; no one confuses it for good bread, but you can still put stuff on it to make a sandwich.

There are health nuts who attack Wonder Bread. They point out the processed flour, and the corporate excess, and the preservatives and the fact that Wonder Bread sniffs the hair of your kid... no one cares. Most of us just roll our eyes and say "it's bread, get over it".

We are all voting against Trump.

@maxdancona,
Voting for a racist pervert just to get rid of a President who is embarrassing the Democrats by doing a great job isn't very bright.

Are you saying that the Democrats are bright? Now you are just being funny.

We are going to vote for a racist perfect to get rid of this President... and that's that.

@Dr Sliptinschit,
You’re pretty much an expert by example about what’s not very bright from what I’ve seen and read. You’re pretty threatened by the impending inevitable Trumple loss in the election. I think that day will be a National holiday, and carting him off to Federal prison for treason will be even better!

What a bunch of tool bags. The most anti American thing an American can do in this day and age is support Democrats. It's like being a jew and voting for nazis.

Thinking Trump is doing a great job...is a shitload less bright. In fact not realizing he is the least competent president we've ever had...is pathetic.

@Frank Apisa,
Biden was VP when those kids were in cages.

Trump's economy was doing great until COVID.

It's your side that always brings up how awesome our previous candidates were after they left office or lost, but when they were running they were BushChimpyMcHitler, a washed up has been with a ditz for a VP candidate, and a Mormon woman hater (binders and binders) respectively.

@neptuneblue,
Yet, look at who the cheaters are.

Obama bugging Trump's offices.
Hillary selling uranium to Russia, destroying 33,000 emails & murdering anyone who got in her and Bills way.

I remember how confident you people were 4 years ago.

How did that work out for you?

All because he's not out without a mask playing golf doesn't mean he's hiding. He's working, something Trump needs lessons on.

Biden Outlines $2 Trillion Climate Plan

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Tuesday outlined an updated climate plan, seeking to invest $2 trillion to boost clean energy and rebuild infrastructure.

The proposal is the second plank of his new economic agenda called "Build Back Better," which he first detailed last week in Pennsylvania.

Biden's climate initiative calls to chart the United States on "an irreversible path" to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

To do that, the plan would aim to achieve a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035. It would also upgrade 4 million buildings and weatherize 2 million homes over four years to increase energy efficiency. And the proposal, Biden's campaign says, would seek to shift major cities toward public transportation and "create millions of good, union jobs rebuilding America's crumbling infrastructure."

The former vice president's plan comes with a $2 trillion price tag, with plans to deploy those resources at an accelerated pace during his first term.

The proposal also includes environmental justice components, such as creating an Environmental and Climate Justice Division within the Department of Justice.

"When Donald Trump thinks about climate change, the only word he can muster is 'hoax,' " Biden said in prepared remarks Tuesday in Wilmington, Del. "When I think of climate change, the word I think about is 'jobs' — good-paying union jobs that'll put Americans to work."

Biden also compared what he called President Trump's failed leadership on the climate crisis to the president's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, Trump's reelection campaign said Biden's proposals would "destroy jobs," and the former vice president is also "drastically underreporting the costs of such a plan." Team Trump also said Biden is "embracing the far-left climate positions" of people like Washington Gov. Jay Inslee.

Indeed Inslee, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination on a climate platform, called Biden's new plan "visionary" in a New York Times interview.

The climate initiatives follow the unveiling of lengthy policy recommendations from joint task forces created by Biden and his onetime primary rival, the progressive Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Ask Philip II of Macedon about that word "if".

Joe Biden means to use the power of the federal government to ensure that black people are free to rape and murder white people.

I'm voting against that.

Outlawing the Democratic Party will put an end to their abuse of the law to conduct witch hunts against people they don't agree with.
