@McGentrix,
At this late date, I'd rather not. Barring your nightmare Covid-19 scenario,
the status quo will probably remain till whenever the season finally starts.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to some baseball-related
fun tonight.

Okay, THAT sucked.

Seems Rhys, McG and I were the only ones who remembered the draft. And
McG decided to bail. He suggested another postponement but I thought we
should go ahead. Bad decision. Sorry.

Well, I think our choice at this point comes down to this:
(A) go ahead with what we have,
or
(B) just abandon the league and start a new one with a later live draft date.

What say ye?

I will try to get in touch with everybody and get a vote. Majority rules.

BTW, I had my traditional triple vodka martini, so the night wasn't a
complete loss.

@George,
Hi, George

I knew about the draft but i was leaving it to auto-draft, same as last year.

As it goes auto-draft didn't do me any favours, my team are terrible.
But that's the luck of the draw.

Either choice A or B is fine by me, i don't mind.

Only thing is, we have no idea when or if the season will start. That doesn't help.

If we are drafting again i might stay up for that one.

Stay safe, cocoon.

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks for getting back.

Yeah, autodraft is hit-or-miss. I tried some mock drafts once I put together
a draft list. The autodraft worked pretty well.

My problem is, I just can't help tinkering. I improve my team until I totally
ruin it.

Stay safe.

It may be possible to just cancel out the draft and assign a new date with
the same teams and managers. I'll have Rhys look into it.

I think we should just wait for the season to start.

@George,
And about the draft.
I got too few starters and was the bummer who got Syndergaard, but already changed him for my pal Urquidy.
Actually I kind of like my team.

@fbaezer,
Yeah when I saw Noah go to you I could almost hear your teeth grinding.
He was high on my list and I didn't edit him out before the draft so I had to
monitor it closely to skip around him.

The draft is the about the last thing anyone is worried about these days,
so absent any protests from other managers, we'll just ride it out for now.

@fbaezer,
We're not quite as isolated. The company I work for has defense contracts,
so it qualifies as "essential" and is still open. I don't have the kind of job I
can do from home. In I go.

I'm 74 and semi-retired; I only work three days a week. (This post comes
to you from the kitchen at Castle George.) Rhys works at Stop & Shop, a
supermarket, and he is working too. He's a clean-up guy so he really is
essential.

We are all keeping our fingers crossed, hoping that we won't contract this
damn thing or at least get a mild dose if we do.

I was telling some friends about the San Patricios this last St, Patrick's Day
and explained that it was a bit of Irish lore that I learned from a Mexican!

Stay safe!

@George,
My job qualifies as essential, but no one over 60 (I’m 65)is supposed to go to work.
I work from home.
The owner of our newspaper decided it was risky for the guys in the press and sellers and distributors to keep our print editions (we have one “national” and 3 local papers)so we are now and for the next month (at least) strictly on line.
Yet we make a “printable” edition for old-liners.
Lot’s of work, really, in a terrible economic context.

Stay safe!

And Erin go bragh!

That's two Irishmen this particular Mexican has educated! One of my oldest friends shares his name with the Batallion leader, Seàn Ò Raghallaigh (pronounced Shawn Oh Ra-hal-lig). The anglicised surname (John) 'Riley' is usually spelt 'Reilly' over here and is a corruption of O'Rahilly (Oh Ra-hill-ee).

Stay safe.

According to Yahoo

Quote:
We have updated important dates and rules for Yahoo Fantasy Baseball to reflect the latest news:

Season Start: 7/23
Live Drafts End: 8/31
Full Season Registration Ends: 8/30
All Drafts End: 8/31
The default trade deadline is now 9/6
Head-to-head leagues now default to 7 regular-season weeks and 2 week playoffs
Default position maximums have been adjusted for roto and points leagues
Extra IL spots have been added by default for public and pro leagues
Private league commissioners should check their league settings to confirm they have the dates and settings they wish

We are working on adding more draft dates for Pro Leagues. We are constantly monitoring the situation and we will update our members with any new developments or decisions.

@eurocelticyankee,
Ahem. Missed out on a bunch of games here. Apologies to Rhys, George and everyone else.

Entered the site for the first time to get my bearings. Also found a very good post from 2011 by Jespah that contained the basics and much more.

I can make up to six changes as far as I can see. Not sure how fixtures work - are games played weekly or every few days? I'll try and figure that out myself. Are there many weeks left?

Any tips gratefully received!

@lmur,
Howdy. I think I posted a bunch of tips a year or two ago. I'll see if I can find them.

Head to head matches are weekly, against other opponents in the league. After the week, you see how many of the categories you beat your opponent in. Not sure how many weeks are left, as I missed a bunch of games myself.
