I'm gonna try explaining an issue that my head isn't quite wrapped around yet... so hopefully it'll make sense!
I have dark brown hair & I've gotten routine blonde balayage highlights for past 3 years w/ a great stylist. Great relationship, great results, love her. I have no knowledge at all when it comes to hair shades, levels, or tones. All I know is I walk out of her salon w/ bright blond color naturally blended into my dark hair- but never lacking that boldness I love
My last color appt.. something turned out different & wrong.
My question- WHAT happened????
So it was 2 days ago & I explained I wanted the normal cut/color, but this time more blonde/lighter blonde. You know, a little more intense.
(IDK if relevant but real quick my hair coming into appt: prob 85% natural dark brown. Last color was 1 year before-routine balayage/same stylist- w/ haircuts in between, so very little to no remaining highlights.)
Back to question. Okay, last appt I told her my request & let her do her thing..
& the thing is I don't think I'm happy w/ it & I can't figure out why. I hope it's not horrible, but I look into the mirror & my hair just doesn't look right.. at all. Something is off, & I no nothing about hair coloring! It's driving me CRAZY bc I can't pinpoint the problem!
The color/shade is different- it's more copper maybe? orange, yellow??? I think. Not really sure.
OR maybe... the color's fine, but I'm just not used impact of color starting higher up than usual? (even though I did ask for more intensity)
OR maybe I didn't take my skin tone into account when I wanted more intense blonde?? NO IDEA... but it doesn't look right to me. I hope someone can tell me what's up.
So, after reviewing my description & pictures, what does the professional hair stylist (with an eye for coloring) see?
Is it brassy? Is it fine, just intense? Is it not a good shade of blonde?
Any feedback will be much appreciated!! Thank you so much.
