I believe he is asking how we, outsiders, view China.

"Hue" means "color", especially a specific type. Like "red" can be broken down into "crimson", "dark red" , "near pink", etc.

So I don't think that is what you meant.

Do you mean "view" of China-that is, what we think of it overall?

they are here to stay - as the ass-kicker extrordinaire of the 21st century.

There's no stopping China and with every passing year they will become more unstoppabe.

thats the "hue" of China i get as an outsider.

Here is my view:

A Chinese company just put an offer to Unocal that essentially they cannot refuse. A whole PILE of our reserves would go with that offer. THis is just the next step in the process. The empire is ending. We are over extended and too fat and happy to do anything about it. We are England and China is the US about 200 years ago. It was a mediocre run - but it is coming to an end.

They are coming. They are shorter, they work hard, they are proud, they are hungry and don't mind the hard labor, they are in it for the long haul and we better brush up on our Guoyo and other dialects because we are going to need them.

Welcome to A2K and thank you for stopping by Englishdavis!

I believe that the strength of China lies in the same place it always has; it's people.

Personally it is difficult to know how to feel about China; on one hand, I have no animosity whatsoever to the Chinese citizen, and I don't even have problems with the Gov't per se, but it is rather troubling that China is poised to wreck our financial markets when they decide to put the squeeze on, and they will sooner or later. This makes me nervous.

Cheers
