All the countries in the region from where the US/GB planes take off to bomb Bagdad, in order to install democracy in Iraq are lead by despotes themself.

The king of Kuwait was reinstalled by the US after the second Gulf War. Since Kuwait hasn't moved an inch towards democracy. Saudi-Arabia is also lead by a king. Qatar: It is a kingdom, with an absolute monarchy, which has NEVER had national elections. Democracy? Never heard of it!

Saudi Arabia is ruled by a monarchy not at all willing to share its oil wealth. Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrein and the United Arab Emirates are
all in the same boat with democracy, not even close

Isn't it ironic that those countries host the US forces that have to install democracy in Iraq?

Democracy in Kuwait Is Promise Unfulfilled

ALSO IRONIC:

Up until they allowed overflights after the war had started -- Turkey, the only predominantly Moslem democracy -- was not part of the coalition.

ALSO IRONIC

Most of the suport for the coalition from the Arab states -- the ones you mentioned are lead by despots or kings -- would almost certainly not be in the coalition if they were democracies and the views of the people were the deciding factor.

I don't think Iraq needs a democracy brought on the wings of Tomahawk (missiles),"

averting an "immense ecological disaster????? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

What a joke. Do they really think we have forgotten about the Kyoto treaty? Suddenly Bush is interested in the effect on the environment. Yeah right!! America is the planet's biggest polluter.
