Well it was not scientifically proven, as it's impossible to defraud something that never existed in the first place.

However, common sense and logic can do the job just as well.

Here's the story:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v93/CrySanctuary/hell1.jpg

As a communist I don't believe in heaven or the Bible but as a scientist I now believe in hell," said Dr. Azzacove. "Needless to say we were shocked to make such a discovery. But we know what we saw and we know what we heard. And we are absolutely convinced that we drilled through the gates of hell!"

Dr. Azzacove continued,". . .the drill suddenly began to rotate wildly, indicating that we had reached a large empty pocket or cavern. Temperature sensors showed a dramatic increase in heat to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit."

"We lowered a microphone, designed to detect the sounds of plate movements down the shaft. But instead of plate movements we heard a human voice screaming in pain! At first we thought the sound was coming from our own equipment."

"But when we made adjustments our worst suspicions were confirmed. The screams weren't those of a single human, they were the screams of millions of humans!"

Now, obviously, this is laughable. The depth would, assumably, have to be much deeper in order to get to that temperature. The machinery of the modern world is not strong enough to dig to the core of the earth - the only firey place that I can think of that they'd possibly reach. The microphone should have melted; I would imagine it had some sort of aluminum or metal parts to it. And don't you think that if someone was able to dig to hell that one time, and considering the hype of this story, that it would have been attempted since?

I heard they were digging in Russia or somewhere over seas. They were digging down really far. Do you exactly how far?

Sounds of Hell
Friday Night Feature took the night off, so that we could bring you another special request-- your own personal mp3 of the ever-popular "Sounds of Hell." Allegedly the cacophony was recorded in Russia where someone placed a microphone into a hole that ran deep into the earth. Click here to have a listen.

Some say this story falls into the Urban Legend bin. Check out this piece from the folks at Snopes.com for their take.

Good work, Jenniejen . . . now you can concentrate on your own reasons for having odd visions, and leave the poor folks in Hell alone . . .

JennieJen, I myself do not think you have any sort of mental disorder. But do tell me this: have you at any time participated in such things as tarot cards, seances, astrology, or the like, or has anybody in your family (specifically elders, like parents, grand-parents, or great-grandparents)? Ditto for New Age?

Absolutely, Jen; otherwise, Jesus wouldn't have had to die on the Cross. But the place to get secure "info" about spiritual things is the WORD. Man's constructs are speculative and untrustworthy.

BTW, I sure would've liked to be able to read what was in that previous post---the one that got edited 3 times, with nothing but a smiley face as the upshot. Crying or Very sad

No one here is qualified to diagnose you Jenniejen. My personal and not entirely uninformed opinion is that there is nothing wrong with you. What i wrote earlier i perhaps made too complicated for such a simple matter. I was saying that your experience is a common one. It is only because you thought your vision might be real that you became alarmed.

So, let me reinforce this: what you experienced was common and normal, it doesn't mean you're crazy, and it also doesn't mean you actually saw hell.

Chai Tea should be ashamed for that series of tendentious questions, they were really inappropriate.

Sentena - you have GOT to be kidding.
It would be really nice if you were to actually read what I wrote.
I was doing something called "asking a question"

The above line is someting called "sarcasm"

"your personal and not entirley uniformed opinion"......
First you state no one (I'm paraphrasing) on this thread is qualified to give a diagnosis.....then you go about giving your opinion "read diagnosis" that nothing is wrong with her.
Are you a pychologist? Phychiatrist? What makes your opinion more informed than mine?

I was not even giving an opinion - I was information gathering - My prefered method of formulating an INformed opinion.

I was not tending toward a diagnosis of mental illness.
It is reasonable to ask someone who is seeing/hearing things others aren't such questions so as to ascertain is what the person experiencing is due to an actual relegious experience, a mental disorder, a side effect of drugs, or a myriad of other possibilities.

I suppose you also didn't read the lines I wrote below it expressing that some people view these visions as a relegious experience, others as seeing another plane of existance, others as a medical condition.

I noticied you didn't mind jumping all over the mental disorder part of my questions - Ignoring my other stated possibilities.

In MY somewhat informed opinion having visions should not automatically be viewed from a relegious perspective. There are just too many other possibilties and I was attempting to narrow it down

Sorry Sentana if seeking information is so offensive to you. In the future I'll be sure to confer with you before posing any questions.

Ashamed? Of what? Trying to delve a little deeper as to why a almost complete stranger is seeing multilated people and hearing sounds from hell?
Oh - and Neo? You're so quick to agree with Sentana being the local thought police, then you turn around and ask about if ms jenniejen diddles with tarot cards.

How inappropriate of BOTH of you.

Oh - and Jenniej - I'm fine - what was happening to me was a chemical inbalance in my brain - No problems for years. I was simply giving an example -Trying to build up the old empathy angle, you know, letting you know you're not alone.....

Is that OK with you Sentana - I mean, trying to identify with her? Don't want to be inappropriate again.

BTW - I have a bachlors degree in accounting & business, and a masters in social work that I acheived later in life while working in the business end of the medical field.
prefered not to pursue the SW angle as my pragmatic side proved stronger.

The scientists and humanist will almost universally tell you there is no hell. But did you know that the bible does not support the idea of a place of eternal torment?

First of all, in the book of Genesis, Adam was not given a soul - he became a soul. He and his wife were given the possibility of everlasting life. The stated punishment for disobedience was death. If there were to be a punishment worse than death, would it not have been fair for a merciful God to warn them of it? Ezekiel reminds us in chapter 18 that the soul can die. Solomon assures us in Chapter 9 of Ecclesiastes that the dead are unconscious.
Do you think it fair that a finite sin could merit eternal damnation?

Well, gosh, where would I have gotten that idea?
Oh! Wait a minute. From YOU!
Usually when someone mentions me by name, says I sound be ashamed of myself for asking ANY sort of question, and calls me inappropriate, I just sort of go out on a limb and figure their talking about ME.

And since no one else besides me asked anything about possible mental disorders before you made your comments - I just had to logic it out that you were talking about the one person who brought it up. Once again, me.

Where did I say I thought everything was about me, Mr Informed Opinion.
From actually READING the words you say - it looks like your making a pretty good case for me to be saying that about you. Why else would you be issuing the edict that NO ONE has the qualifications to diagnosis (or ask questions)

I'm not looking for a fight - I'm actually very peace loving. But hon, I am NOT going to put up with someone telling me I'm inappropriate and should have shame for myself, for simply asking an intelligent question and voicing my uninformed opinion.
Putting shame on me is NOT your call to make.
I've paid my dues in life - and will be treated with a little respect. Perhaps you are the one who's thinking everything is about YOU, if you cannot abide a person expressing themselves in a manner you would not.
I believe they have a name for such an idealogy.
It would be really nice Setana, if you didn't believe everything was about you.
God - you just REALLY hit a sore spot - Don't EVER call me inappropriate when I'm addressing another person, unless I'm cursing or making sexual remarks.

Don't twist my words or take them out of context. I really despise it when people do that - Mostly because I don't believe the person doing the twisting expects to be called on it. Well, ring, ring, ring.

Did you perhaps not think to first ask me what prompted my questions? THAT would have been the appropriate thing to do. Or, did you think I was just calling another person crazy

Now - back to the subject at hand - Just for myself, I really don't think having visions is normal - I would probably check it out a little further than the Bible.

Sanctuary - that was interesting what you said about sleep paralysis.
Did that stop on its own?
Isn't it generally believed what was actually happening when people were saying they were being attacked by incubus and sucubus?

My point was that Jenniejen ought not to worry about her mental health. I was less concerned with your reaction than with hers--and that is the point of me saying that not everything is about you. Jenniejen started this thread because of her concern about the nature of her experience. Now you want to take it over to express your umbrage toward the justifiable criticism i have made of your thoughtless response.

Tough.

yeah, that's what people - especially bullies do - when they realize they can't intimidate someone - they make fun of them instead.

you cannot hear my tone - it wasn't hysterical like you might like to imagine.

my demeanor writing those words were calm, deliberate, proud and true.

you will not demean me Setana - you are only demeaning yourself.

As far as your explanation that you were implying I was not paying attention to the matter at hand, and were concerned about JJens take on it, why did you not say that if that is what you are meaning? say what you mean, and mean what you say.
Actually - it appears to me you have done a pretty good job of turning this into something about you. It would be nice if you didn't do that.

and please don't think I am so foolish as to not realize the "needling" game you're trying to start. Bullies are good at that too when they start to understand the other person will stand up for themselves.

I think you fear me Sentana - or you wouldn't be so hell bent to diminish me.
Far from justifiable criticism, you are only putting forth faux macho blustering.
I was actually expecting an apology, not futher sophomoric indignities.

You are not respectful. I am not going to discuss this with you any further. Anything further is your ego.

My question was and is not thoughtless - actually - I think there is a lot more going on with here than meets the eye.

JJ - when I asked for background - I really wasn't asking about your having a son or your going to school.

I was asking a little deeper than that - That is why I phrased it "May I"
You can talk about yourself more, or not.
What else is going on with you?

I haven't the least interest in demeaning anyone. Nor are you sufficiently important to me to make any effort to "diminish" you. Once again, not everything is about you. However, you either need to know, or are willfully ignoring that in the online world, writing all in caps is considered the equivalent of shouting. You were shouting out commands to me about what i must not ever do. That is hilarious. You're in no position to give anyone here orders.

It is a relief to know, however, that your tediously long and rambling screeds addressed to me will now end.
