Well now I had to go look it up:

    1. blanket party The act of trapping a person underneath a blanket and physically assaulting them. The blanket is used as: 1) a deterrent for the assaulted person to fight back; and 2) a way of keeping the assailants anonymous.

My Father-in-Law tells of similar stories. He was in the Navy and served with an openly gay man. The gay man never tried anything with any of his peers and his peers just treated him like everybody else. They had no problem with it as long as he kept it his own business.
