As long as I am being obnoxious already, I'll keep it up to post this -
this is where I had booked but was two days early for my reservation, thus the stay at Loggiato dei Serviti -

I would want to visit anywhere in Italy just knowing that osso would be having multiple orgasms simply being in her beloved Italy. I just love for people to be happy...

Paris, of course; it goes without saying. Francis is there. That would be a separate trip and quite a trip it would be.

Funny, the heat in Tucson never bothered me when I was a kid, but now I can't take it. Greece, Sicily I'm afraid, would be tooooo hot.

Diane, I cannot take the heat (and humidity) either. My very first summer
in New York City was sheer torture.

Yes, Loggiato dei Serviti is at 165 USD now for a single. It was around 115 or so, in my memory then, but I got a deal at the train station for about 90. That's to make up for that miserable $30. place, heh.

FLorence, a short distance from Lucca and Sienna....

All those winerys, all that good food, just heaven!

Italy, France, I don't care, let's just go and enjoy. This is virtual reality, let's visit both places, or all three places if we want to include Barcelona. For osso's sake, Italy is a must. Now I've started thinking of Kicky. I hope he's having the time of his life.

I'd go to Italy too!
Actually, while I was there last year, I did look at real estate
there.....

An old villa in northern Italy is quite tempting as well.

Greece? No, I don't think so!
Oh, you're from Stuttgart?

Do you have anything against Stuttgart? Smile And why not Greece??? We have been going to the island of Thassos for the past three years and just love it there. Forests, mountains and wonderful little beaches. Can't wait for our six weeks there this summer!

My cousin from NZ is visiting Italy in October and he will look at some villas there. I must say Italy has more going for it since I alread have the language under my belt and the food is, well just wonderful!

Greece is too hot. We'll stick to Italy, and yes, the food
is very edible.

I have nothing against STuttagart <warum sollte ich?> Wink

I need a good rather basic online map re Germany and italy... an a2ker has asked me for help to map out a trip and I have been busy this last week, not that I am any expert, I am just loud. I will suggest she post here. But in the meantime, does anyone have a link for the area between Stuttgart and, say, Florence? not that Florence would be a destination, but re map coverage, for talking points.

Yaaaaaak, apparently you have to know what you need to know. I just want a plain old map of the area, so I can discern cities. Most online sites drive me nutso, not that I am not already, but I insist, not.

Maps like we used to have back in the LA area, by Thomas Guides, seem few and far between.

Hmmm, I'll check and see if Thomas Guides have taken a plane to Europe.

Well, not exactly, lovely though that was. Anybody know how I just look at a map from Stuttgart to Florence without dragging out a world atlas -

Aha, I bet there are Atlas sites...
