got it! kaigan is beach, literally. should be plenty of pix with just matsushima. i had a ride on a motorboat around those islands when i was a kid. Smile by reputation, matsushima is one of the most scenic spots in Japan. my mother's family is from Sendai, nearby.

Whew! Now I know why Oriental languages are the most difficult, Yit. I did enjoy my trip through the islands, however. You are right, simply awesome.
