A really easy one, I mean..
I figured you'd get it instantly if you were around on a2k, but I had fun in the looking. People mislabel the castles on google image.. I've done a painting of the other castle (an early a2ker, Paola, took the photo), but never quite finished it. It annoys me every time I walk in the 'painting' room... Anyway, in the search, I found some photos that will clarify what was in her photo, as she took it when it was foggier...
It's one of those castles in which virgins were locked up by their fathers to prevent them from sullying the family name with some passing knight. I forget its name but it's likely to be in the Transylvania region where they used to make a big deal out of such things.
I'm assuming Francis knows the place, probably personally, but since he didn't name it and hasn't posted a new photo (which is neither here nor there as he might not have had the time), I dunno.
I haven't played this travel game in a while - if no one has posted a new photo, does someone else just go ahead?
Since it amuses me to play again, I'm going to try to build up a backlog of possible photos.

I spent a bunch of time on the hunt for a photo, since the place I had a photo from Paola on (all I knew was Erice) was the Castello di Venere, Castle of Venus. Well, it was on some websites. And when I looked that name up, up popped this place, clearly not the same in all the google image photos and links. This, I'm 99% sure, is Pepoli Castle, also in Erice. I picked the Pepoli photo because I like the foggy aspect; sorry it stretched the page a little.
I've a hankering/hunkering for it too, CI - I'd love to go to Sicilia. I'd need at least a month, maybe three months... (where is my prince?)
osso, Save your dollars, because I'd like to return to Sicilia. The only place I've visited on that island is Taormina, and it was love at first site! We also visited a winery, because we were on a wine cruise. Several tour operators have some good deals to sicily.
