Which race would you all prefer in 2008? Either one is possible...

Clinton v. Rice

or

Clinton v. Gingrich

What I personally hope is that Clinton has no intention of running but that they are using her as a decoy. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the Republicans spent a whole bunch of money and effort smearing her right up until the Democratic Convention (which would hopefully be after the Republican one) when they announced that, gasp, Howard Dean or Barak Obama was their nominee? I'd just love to see all that money wasted.

Note that the attempt to smear Hillary is inferential--innuendo based on her husband's activities. This does not mean it will necessarily be less effective, but it is indicative of a failure to find anything which the right can pin on the Senator.

Considering I find both Rice and Gingrich to be genuine crap I don't suppose it matters. I suppose Hillary versus Rice because a black candidate, as I've repeatedly stated, is sure to lose the South for the Republicans, or would under normal circumstances.

I do not however believe that their will be an honest election in this country for a long time. We have crossed the line and are in the infancy or at least the birth pains of a totalitarian state IMO.

Yep, as soon as something like this starts now I know to seek the source / financial backing.

From their list of other titles:

Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed!
A Small Lesson in Conservatism
by Katharine DeBrecht
Illustrations by Jim Hummel
8x6 hardcover(color illus.) - Aug. 2005 - 0-9767269-0-4 - $15.95 $12.99

This news-making book is a fun way for parents to teach young children the valuable lessons of conservatism. Written in simple text, readers can follow along with Tommy and Lou as they open a lemonade stand to earn money for a swing set. But when liberals start demanding that Tommy and Lou pay half their money in taxes, take down their picture of Jesus, and serve broccoli with every glass of lemonade, the young brothers experience the downside to living in Liberaland.

Unless I'm mistaken, Barack Obama is unavailable for a presidential run until 2012 due to his current Senate term.

Service in the Senate does not disqualify an individual from standing for the Presidency--unless, of course, personal scruple dictates otherwise.

I do not think she will run. First there's the "been there done that " factor, second she'd have to carry all that baggage from her husbands administration, thirdly she has always seemed to be a better behind the scenes operator than an administrator. I think she wants to become a power in the Senate, and you do not need to be president to do that. But it does not hurt to be periodically mention as a possible candidate.

I'm still trying to figure out how Illinois got 8-year terms for its senators Smile

Yeah, I wouldn't think that would matter or we wouldn't have had Kerry or Edwards running in the last election. Or Lieberman the one before.

At any rate, it would be nice if the Democrats were savvy enough to pull a bait-n-switch.

Setanta, that sounds right. Barack Obama said he wouldn't consider the presidency until he finished his senatorship. But Barack vs Condi...imagine the possibilities.

The better question is whether she'll have the 'scruples' to tell New Yorkers she's running. I read a poll a couple of months ago showing 60+ percent of New Yorkers want her to commit to a full 6-year term if she runs for the Senate again. She refused to answer Tim Russert recently when he asked if she'd do just that.

Who is definitely not running (in '08):

Dr. Rice
VP Cheney
Gov. Jeb Bush

That would be a contest indeed. I have a high regard for Mr. Obama. I will not comment on Miss Rice.
