I have been looking for a networking group for a while now. I would like a group that is small (up to 20 members), where I can get the opportunity to meet and get to know most of the members.
What groups do you know of that offers what I want? The groups that I've been to Toastmasters before, and it seems like most of the members just show up for the meeting and then leave afterwards, so there's little to no time to get to know them. I find the same problem with almost every other group that I've been part of.
Is there any group where every is guaranteed to meet others?
Language classes seem to be good for that, as people meet outside of class to practice.
There are also Meetups, you can plug your location into it and see if there are any in your area. There are a lot of reasons for various kinds of Meetups, but they are usually explicitly social.

Here are the results I got for "Toronto"

Toast master is all I know, try to google.
I would suggest Rotary for networking. I don't know where in GTA you live but I do know there are a few Rotary clubs there. If you're at all interested have a look at
http://www.rotary.org. The big one is of course the Rotary Club of Toronto but I get the feeling that one is for elite business types (I am a Rotarian but definitely not an elite business type).
Same goes for Lions and the other service clubs. All are good for networking and in my experience because the members have a focus on service to the community as well as business networking they tend to spend more time actually communicating with each other.
