Attempted finding the passage of Homer's Iliad <where he describes Noha's flood> but found an equally interesting page containing the Voynich Manuscript, plus.......
<also at the Space.com site - check out Saturn's photo>

That photo of "Noah's Flood" is amazing, as are all the others. The only thing missing from ehBeth's good looking cover were the peanuts and Crackerjacks. And yes, I remember hump day too. And I had a cat, now deceased, named Odin.

And thanks for the bee link, Stradee. The bee decline will end up costing this country and its people billions and billions, before they are able to come back in any great number. Catastrophe.

That is some impressive looking iceburg.

sumac, the NG channel terrific. If you have access to Direct TV, the monthly charges vary depending what program package you choose. You may be able to register for just the cable channels <instead of local channels> which significantly reduces monthly costs.

I suppose I could take a turn at it. Carry on folks, while I ponder 60 and a suitable intro topic.

I'm sure that the Senate will follow suit. It will certainly be seen as a win-win vote for everyone.

ehBeth - Since you know how to reach pwayfarer, how about telling her about c.i.'s thread re: Malta?

Rain, rain, stay awhile; go away from some other place. 3.5" down in the rain barrel this year.

Stradee - tks so much for these news, I know it's a subject close to our hearts and I hope the Senate confirms this monstrosity of killing our wild horses for "meat export" must stop once and for all:

Helen, what a lovely photo! They are magnificent animals arn't they?

With the huge margin of votes from the House, I'm confident the Senate will pass the legislation. The only problem now is finding good homes for the horses rounded up by the BLM. Enacting laws banning the grazing and raising of cattle on federal lands would certainly be beneficial for horse and burro herds, as well as predator animals though. We've still much to accomplish for wildlife and domestic animal protection.

Have a wonderful trip, and again, thanks for all you do for our animal buds. Godspeed
