Hey Osso, Fred says, "Hi Fred." You know of course, that it's all about Fred.

There is no need to wait except that Clary is thinking of coming west next year, so we have to plan for her ventures into the rough and ready southwest, making sure that we can get together when she's here. In the meantime, whenever the possibility presents itself, we should jump at the chance--at our age, we should take advantage of any chance to have fun. Well, fun at any age should be a priority. Let's DO IT.

I am in! I am game and I am oh so ready! Hehehe...I haven't even gotten moved into my actual house here yet in Oklahoma, but I'm ready to go, none the less.

I just spoke with my fiance about this and he says that it would be great! He knows of a couple of great Frisbee courses for disc golf that he could play (in the event it IS just ladies only) I think he still likes to be around me. And if the guys are welcome, I'm not opposed at all. Smile

This will be so much fun!!

Don't count on me, girls! I've just heard that 2 of my friends are in India this year so I may do that this winter... is it less expensive to travel if you are a 60+ in the States? If so I'll wait till 2007!

Diane, if we wait until Osso gets her butt moved to Albuquerque, we could have a progressive feast (pig-out) at the homes of Dys and Diane, BumbleBeeBoogie and Osso.

Might be fun to have breakfast at one home, lunch at another and wind up having dinner at the third home.

We could invite Roger to drive down from Farmington to be the bartender and dishwasher along with Dys .

That sounds so cool - a royal progress of increasingly inebriated goddesses!

A Royal Progress of Increasingly Inebriated Goddesses.

This should be our official title, even when we aren't progressing or inebriated, or aren't progressing because we are inebriated.

Tote that barge...

well, I guess a barge just isn't the thing in the high desert.

Perhaps a train of splendid horses.

I keep telling people how nice I've found Albuquerque people to be.

Three days ago, I heard a noise in my car as I drove to the drug store, but couldn't identify it. As I got in my car to leave the store, the security guard came outside to my car to advise me I had a very flat tire. He changed the tire for me and refused to take a tip.

The next day, I took the flat tire to the tire store, left the tire, and went grocery shopping. Upon my return, they told me the tire was so badly damaged that they replaced it with a new one. I expected to pay nearly $100 for the new tire, but they only charged me $13 for a new warrantee.
They could have told me I voided the warrantee by driving on the flat tire, but they didn't.

Yesterday, one of my vaulted ceiling smoke alarms started screeching intermittently. My next door neighbor, Suzie, heard the alarm, came and climbed up my ladder and replaced the alarm battery. Peace and quiet again.

Yesterday, during a high school graduation reception for Suzie's daughter, one of my neighbors told me I didn't need to buy a blower to get rid of the leaves on my artifical front lawn. He said he would come over with his blower and clean the lawn for me.

Albuquerque dogs aren't too bad either. My Maddy and Dolly keep me laughing and feeling loved all day long.

Albuquerque people are really kind to women of a certain age.

In case you are interested in a New Zealander's view of Albuquerque, whither he has recently removed to live with his love, here is an extract from his email:
The drought here is in its 5th or 6th year,
and the stress on the trees has caused them to succumb to the depradations
of a wood boring beetle that they would normally not be much bothered by.
The landscape is populated with dead trees amongst the living.
The fire hazard is enormous and a disaster is inevitable.
It didn't happen last summer, but now it is this summer already believe it or not.
We have already had some hazy days from smoke blowing over
from fires they are having in Arizona.
The State of New Mexico is the State of the Incipient Holocaust.
The State of Enchantment could become a State of Engulfment.

Ooooh errrr.

BBB, I really enjoyed your story of love of your neighbors. That was a GOOD day, and it was worth getting up for!!
I used to LONG to move westward, and was always told to " go to ARIZONA for your sinuses". (Actually, I never had sinus trouble Smile )

I have been to Phoenix for a visit, but I am not sure I could make enough income to keep up the lush, green look I have become so familiar with, in the vales of the Georgia hills. They have greenery, but it is transplanted!

I would love to come to Albeq. and meet all of you in person. It would be WONDERFUL. Alas, home tie obligations keep me posted daily at the grind, with no end in sight. But I will continue to enjoy reading all the great interactions and looking at all the photos.

Clary, the wildfires in the drought ridden states seem to get worse all the time. No wonder your friend is aghast.
