My grandmother taught me to work a little every day and then have fun.

My mother-in-law was my role model for being an angry feminist yet still love life. She also taught me how to determine what I want (you have to test the waters).

Most women have given me something. Diane, you've taught me some things -- for example, it is always worth it to be yourself.

I read the first post where the quote was in effect ....inside every old woman is a young woman blah blah blah....
I'm 33. Inside me a few times a weeks is a young hunky lad.

Very Happy

Congratulations, urs!
Without a doubt you ARE going to get there ... but I suspect you might have reached that goal already! Very Happy

You write about your own experiences honestly. I like that! Very Happy

It all is good and I've heard from Diane that Urs is "Wunderbar" ... but I was waiting to hear how it was to walk on the embers.

That sounded scary!!!

Good morning Madame Di--- I was really surprised when I scrolled across this thread. Even shocked to hear Ethelred has had a stroke. How very sad! I pray she will completely recover.
Many moons back I heard from Sumac. Seems she has been diagnosed with a disease too, that slowly destroys memory.
I remember our grand days in Croneland. Sometimes we had a lot of craziness, and big laughs... but we always had the sharing and caring.
Anyone ever hear from Marley- Joan Dark- or Virginia (longdog)?
Everyone was so compassionately terrific to me when my husband died. I did not know where I would go, or what would happen...
But I have been very happy since then. Sharing with my large family, I live on a beautiful mountain, and still maintain a 'little' bit of elasticity in that skin, Diane Laughing
I have a couple of 'guys' of an older age chasing me around, but I cannot say I am interested in a 'love life' anymore, in THAT sense.
Maybe just haven't met the RIGHT one. Like Letty, I married because it was the thing to do, and I really wanted children. For 45 years, we had a warm and respectful relationship-- seriously supporting each other as best we could. That is the closest to 'love' I ever came.
My life is wonderful. I want to be all I can be everyday, and I pray it to be so. Have a great day, all of you. salute lou (louritter)

G'day Lou.

Marleybillionsandbillions has been on my mind lately. Just sent her an email over the weekend. Hope it finds her.

I've seen Ginny Longdog a few times in the past year when she's been here working on her doctorate. That woman is a hoot and a holler. Very Happy

Hi Piffka,

I feel like I know you, having read your poetry offerings, and seen several photos of you... one especially with my dear friend PeaceandLove. Aren't you a bit young to be 'crone'?
Thanks for the good wishes.

Hear, Hear.....!!!!

My younger sis and I went north to a very large out let mall a week ago-

My most delightful moments were in a shop almost ENTIRELY decorated with purple dresses and red hats/ or a blend of both.

I feel sure Ginny will tell the world when she is lettered!

Hiya Lou,
Well thanks. I am a poetry nut. I guess I am one of the younger crones... but what is age among friends? Peace & Love... such a busy woman! Haven't seen her for a while. We live close to each other & to Jeanne d'Seattle, too.

Here's a message for you:

Quote:
Please say hi from
Virginia/longdog to her!

Love, Ginny

She's says you are very attractive and she's not at all surprised that a couple of men seemed interested in you. <grin> They'd be so lucky.

Cheers,
Piff

You know, she sent me an email back in 2003 or 4, telling me she was Selkie. But I never found her. I wasn't even a member then.
Thanks. If you read her, let me know.

(This is a note on Wednesday---) I did not want to bump up the thread, but wanted to appreciate all of you quietly. I really do say prayers for all of the ladies I have met, (and of course, the gents too).
You are all a special lot. Salute

Oh, theoldlady, please come back. I've been under the weather with computer problems and various other little things and have not provided proper attention to this thread. It is wonderful to see you. Do you still write your beautiful poetry?

I'll be back tomorrow to try and catch up with everyone who has posted. There are some old friends here as well as some fascinating new friends. All of them crones in their uniquely special way.

Here is something to bring a laugh to all who are starting to identify with getting older:

It was fun being a baby boomer...till now. Some of the

artists of the '60s are revising their hits with new lyrics to accommodate

aging baby boomers.They include:

Herman's Hermits - Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Walker

The Bee Gees - How Can You Mend a Broken Hip

Bobby Darin - Splish, Splash, I Was Havin' a Flash Crying or Very sad

Ringo Starr - I Get By With a Little Help from Depends

Roberta Flack - The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face

Johnny Nash - I Can't See Clearly Now

Paul Simon - Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver

Commodores - Once, Twice, Three Times to the Bathroom

Marvin Gaye - I Heard it Through the GrapeNuts

Procol Harem - A Whiter Shade of Hair

Leo Sayer - You Make Me Feel Like Napping

The Temptations - Papa's Got a Kidney Stone

Abba - Denture Queen

Tony Orlando - Knock 3 Times on the Ceiling if you Hear Me Fall

Helen Reddy - I am Woman, Hear me Snore Embarrassed

Willie Nelson - On the Throne Again

Leslie Gore - It's My Procedure and I'll Cry if I Want To

Creedence Clearwater--There's a Bathroom on the Right

Wish we all could have a 'crones of all ages' meeting somewhere with plenty of time to yak. That would be heaven.

I knew that tune to "Whiter Shade of Pale" sounded familiar. It sounded Bachish....Wow! I just traced Harum Scarum down on Google and found a whole bunch of stuff.

Harum Scarum dvd by Elvis? I DO NOT want one of those, Francis.
