The print press is performing far above the TV and radio media.
The TV Media is too busy trying to be the first with the latest breaking news and chasing ratings to make lots of money. Too busy and too lazy to do any fact checking. Too busy to offer balance (the Schiavo case is a prime example.). Too busy to offer anyone other than so-called spin pundits that provide little helpful information. Too busy and too greedy to spend money on good reporting and investigative reporting. Too lazy to offer information that will actually keep the public accurately informed. It's easier and cheaper to offer talking heads from the left and extreme right wings to shout and interrupt each other in senseless babble that fills air time but does little to educate the public. Too stupid to realize that the public would rather hear a civil non-spin fight by people who have the interests of the country in mind instead of promoting their political party and agenda.
TV news has forgotten the difference between news and the editorial page with too much opinion and speculation tainting their news product. They should honor the separation of news and opinion to restore their credibility.
TV news reporting stinks---except for Public Broadcasting, the only news source that retains it's integrity.
