Hello-
My husband and I are considering moving to Melbourne, so that I can attend the UM Business School. I have a few questions, and hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction...
1) My husband will be graduating from Law School in the United States this May. I am concerned that he will not be able to work in the legal field in Melbourne. I understand that he may not be able to practice Aus law, but does anyone know of good Int'l law, or environmental law groups where he could do some form of legal work? He is not 100% wedded to only doing law, so other applicable careers would be options.
2) If I apply as a student, is it better to put him on my visa or have him apply for his own? Is he limited in the number of hours he can work?
We are REALLY excited about the potential of moving to Melbourne for a couple of years. We have heard such wonderful things about the people, city, schools, etc. Just lots of logistics to work through. Thanks for any and all help.
I do not have the expettise to help you - but this association - the Victorian Bar Association - may be able to help, or point you in the right direction:
